I would assume that this is all coming out now as part of another push for some major investment. Surely if it does not materialise this time they will officially pull the plug?
 
I occassionally wonder what will happen to the huge shopping malls, like Bluewater and Lakeside, if their relevance and custom continues to fade away. Many will doubtless be levelled, and turned into housing, but could we see a few reused for theme parks?

The significant amount of indoor space in those concept pictures make me wonder if repurposing e.g. Lakeside would be a better bet than this project happening?
They have the car parks, road network, public transport, food courts etc., and they are really just shopping themed amusement parks already. Indoor attractions allow you to run 52 weeks a year in the UK climate, and they are increasingly turning to leisure attractions over retail already.

I know the likes of the Metro Centre abandoned the idea of a small park amongst the shops, but that was a different era, and leisure spending seems to be a growth area.

Lakeside and Bluewater are packed already. Their car parks couldn’t cope with theme park guests on top. I tried to go to lakeside on Sunday two weeks ago and couldn’t find a single parking space.

Lakeside and Bluewater are always rammed with people whenever I go! I don't think that's happening any time soon tbh.
 
The new concepts look fantastic, and they definitely prove that dedicated work is going on behind the scenes to get this park open for 2024!

They definitely prove that a digital freelance artist has been hired

Other than it not being very realistic, I still struggle to be excited when it looks like a theme park designed by committee copying a bit of every park ever. If it turned out to look anything like the concept art I would be impressed, though it would say more about the budget theyre throwing at it than their vision. And would it be sustainable to build this all so quickly?

Lakeside is already experimenting with theme park-esque attractions (well, a family fun centre with a 4D cinema) - Nickelodeon Adventure opened earlier this week:

I have no doubt that Mr PY would like to get it open, but unless they get some sort of major investment it is not going to happen! I see these concepts as a push for investment, something to try and get potential investors excited. The cost of developing these concepts will be small in the grand scheme of things.
 
Is this an entirely different park to the one proposed a few years ago? The concept art bears vary little resemblance to that which was released then?!

Unoriginal lands and Disney rip-offs fill me with no confidence this project will ever come into fruition.

It seems so, yes. The whole team behind the project seems to have changed since the initial plans were released way back when. So it seems like the new team have their own vision. PY Gerbeau's link to DLP means it is no surprise that it sounds a bit like a Disney rip-off.

Yes although in this day and age everyone can visit Disney much more readily than people could back then, so it just comes across reallly badly when things are so plainly copied now. There also wasnt a Disneyland in Europe at the time
 
Europa also has more going for it. I can name as many things unique to Europa as there are similaritys. So far all this has going for it is being in the UK and rivaling Merlin.
