Merlin Annual Pass

Goodness it feels like this is being overly complicated on here.

There are two offers, one for passholders which includes UNLIMITED fastrack including Hyperia.

And one for non-passholders which includes one time per coaster fastrack including Hyperia.

Edit: post crossed with @jon81uk.
Depends on the day you book, courtesy of info from jon81uk. If its open both days yout get 1 day, one shot Coaster FT. If one of the days the park is closed you get 1 day unlilmited all day most rides FT.

The way its worded on the main page, gave me the impresssion (sadly wrong) the unlimited before/after closed days was a benefit for passholders only.

I think the only actual benefit for passholders is the very low price. At £64 for two people that is still low compared to £149 for others, even if you remove £58 for tickets it still means passholders are saving £28.

Now I want to put you on Interpols most wanted list, and have you mangled in a car crusher, whilst listening to the Hyperia queue line music. You nasty person, taking all my happiness away, and ruining my short lived illusion that we passholders had a deal nobody else could get. I hate you, from the very bottom of my Hyperia shaken body - Your worse than the villains in the TV soaps. :D:D:D:D

Sulking now

Do annual passes renew instantly? So if i buy one at 930am i'll immediately get a new digital barcode to scan?
In theory yes. I'm practice probably. Essentially if payment and picture all go through you get an email in around 10 mins with your new code. The renewal pack arrives around 10 days later. This is what happened to us in July when I renewed two passes.

It did update instantly. It’s also the same pass number so I imagine previous barcode might still work, will test for “fun”.

Carer Pass did not update instantly but you can show the application which they’ll verify on the day if it hasn’t come through.

Despite somewhat wanting to “send a message” we were always going to renew as the value is simply absurd for the amount we visit. And tbf despite the issues in 2024 almost every trip to LEGOLAND and Chessington went well. Expect we will give Thorpe a debut trip in 2025 but probably skip AT.

Further confusion, i've tried adding the new passes to my account and it's not registering them. Anyone had this? Strange because it's let me save the passes in my Wallet.

Guess i'll also be testing the turning up without a booking theory this week.

Well scanning the old passes didn’t work.

Scanning the new passes without a booking did work but they could seemingly tell as they asked if I had a booking and had to scan the pass multiple times for some reason. It had a green tick each time though so do wonder if it was a staff error.

Ohhhh the empathy with that statement!!!!! I have a phrase about Merlin, love the "product" hate the "attitude". We love the parks, and it would be stupid for us not to renew passes, but we do it with a heavy heart.

The IT issues you have experienced are part of the "attitude". Nothing is joined up properly, and regularly does not work. Just stupid point, illustrating my point. We went to Legoland last week for a break. Our annual passes are in the App, along with our details. When we leave the park, the App asks if we want to upgrade to an annual pass. Stupid I know, but a good example of the stupid IT systems that simply are not joined up - they know we already have passes!!!!!

Does anyone know how to get my car reg on the Thorpe annual pass (not Merlin) system? Looks like they have different processes?
If you mean so it recognises it at the exit barrier, here goes. You have to add the car reg at the point of purchase or renewal. After that you can try customer services; no way to add it afterwards yourself. Also, once added it cannot be changed until next renewal.

Also somewhat hit and miss whether it actually works

Also hates if you have a numberplate that's higher or lower than expected and cannot cope with black and silver plates
