Merlin Annual Pass

For anybody wondering, I contacted Merlin and they couldn't advise dates for 2025 yet. They will release the calendar by the end of November.

It does seem a bit daft to me when you could buy a Merlin pass today but not know what your exclusion dates will be.

Does anyone know if there is something up with the Blackpool Tower during December? I have a Discovery Pass but it’s not showing any dates in December at all for the Blackpool Tower Eye even though I’ve managed to book the Ballroom and Madame Tussaud’s for the 8th. And looking at just the regular non-pass holder booking page it shows no availability at all for the Tower Eye in November, December, January, or February apart from one single random day on January 9th that can be booked. Is this attraction currently closed or something?

I think it is actually open at weekends through to new year, the Beach is open weekends until the end of November, the Illuminations are on until new year, the shops are packed out with Christmas shoppers, there is the usual Christmas by the Sea fair and activities on the Tower headland, and the prom is still very busy at weekends with the Illuminations.
That was my personal experience yesterday.

The ground floor of the Velvet was packed yesterday afternoon as well, we struggled to find a table.
The season is far from over.

Why are the southern parks showing queue times today when site says they’re closed? Can’t book anything on MAP…

Some things in the Tower are open the eye isn't.
Although it may seem "busy" at weekends it isn't really. A lot of the people around are locals now

I stand corrected.
The busy Velvet yesterday afternoon was most amusing...very local, loud, grey and elderly.
Then I looked in the mirror...
My mate absolutely loves the place, half a dozen plates in front of us and two decent beers for thirty quid.

Try doing the wetherspoons game on Facebook lol

Does anyone know if I can upgrade my gold to a platinum pass as part of a renewal. Or if I can renew to just a thorpe one? Trying to decide what to do next.

I've enquired about upgrading from a Thorpe Park Annual Pass to a Merlin one and I've been told that you can't renew from Thorpe to Merlin as they use different systems and that you'd have to buy a new pass completely if you want to upgrade from a Thorpe only pass to a Merlin pass.

You can renew from any Merlin Annual Pass type into another Merlin Annual Pass type which you can go from Gold to Platinum.

I'm like a Facebook mom right now, the Black Friday sale on MAPs is here and I can't decide between Platinum or Gold - not sure I need 364 days access 🤣🤣🤣
