Monorail Refurbishment

On the flip side, there has been quite a bit of TLC taking place around the park this off-season, so even if there are no airgates, I wouldn’t be surprised if some kind of spruce-up has happened on the monorail since it last operated.

Also, even though I’ll admit that I’m not entirely sure how the financial side of the park’s operation works, I assume the money for things like TLC projects such as the (hypothetical) installation of airgates on the monorail, if it were to happen, is an entirely separate pot of money to the money allocated for things like the new hired in flat rides.

I know that it might seem like money’s tight this year, but it’s also being a little more generous this year in many other ways, such as in the new events and rather extensive TLC jobs.

Apart from the single masssive piece of glaring evidence of them never having any air gates. Ever.

That is a somewhat flawed argument point. As they have never had airgates. So the fact they have never had any is strong evidence to suggest there isnt any being installed.

By your logic in that comment, you could say they could be building a hidden, triple launched disney themed underground coaster, because there isnt any evidence to suggest they aren't building it. Face palm moment.

In truth, no one really knows until 12th April. These numbers could be due to a station revamp, or they could be due to something more logistical, for example to help with COVID procedures. Or they could end up being merely informative.

I think any suggestions are logical, but we don’t really know anything until 12th April.

I would think they are permanent, not temporary, which would point to them not being just for Covid. We'll find out for certain on April 12th though. :)
 
I would say they are permanent too. Having numbered bays helps the loader send people efficiently and quickly into bays / into carriages of the ride. It can be used just as effectively without airgates and on its own does not mean anything to do with airgates.

This is not what extensive maintenance or capital expenditure looks like. If it was then it would only speak volumes about the 'normal' level of capex.

Yes the flat rides are apparently out of the operating budget, so really just reinforces the idea the level of capex granted isn't high enough for the park's needs. But then covid has made that worse

Surely at least they must have fixed the age related issues on the monorail trains - the rips and the windows which were falling out

This is getting a bit ridiculous now. You can easily see the bays from outside on account of the gaping holes that the rather large train goes through at each station.

There's no airgates this year. Feel free to discuss future changes and additions, but they're not going to suddenly show up in the next week.

Did I mention air gates? No I didn't. I was not talking about those at all. You're being ridiculous, not me. ;)

You quite literally quoted a post saying there were no air gates, so of course they were being referred to. No one would be entering the bays on account of the Monorail not being open?

Anyway, many thanks @siralgenon for having a look and confirming once and for all!

Out of interest, is it known what sort of procedures are in place on the monorail COVID-wise?
 
There are perspex screens inside to separate parties. I noticed in a video the windows look in the exact same state as they did in 2019 though.
