Many rides have graced Alton Towers over the many years in which it's operated as an amusement / theme park, but which rides do you miss the most? :)

For me, Toyland Tours is the biggest loss (with the Haunted House not far off). I first went on it before my first birthday in 1994 and had a go every visit. To me, what replaced it is an insult to both of the two previous themes that the attraction held before it. Toyland Tours sums up what "the magic" was more than anything else for me (though I'd put it joint first with Peter Rabbit on Ice if I were including shows).

Anyway, I still listen to the Toyland Tours music quite often to remind myself of the fun I had on the attraction it was made for. Hearing the remixed version play by the Carnival of Screams entrance last year was fantastic, even if it wasn't being used for the ride that I miss more than any other.

Enough from me though; now's your turn! :p

Toyland Tours. Never even got a chance to ride it and I miss it :'(

Black hole.

To this day was it was the ride that really caused a revelation in the young me back then. It cause me to think that all theme parks should have an inclosed roller coaster...I really mean that.

Toyland Tours without a doubt, watching the video TS posted to YouTube earlier today reminded me how poor Charlie is in comparison.

I've gone for the Swan Boats. Looking back at that list, I can see that was the only ride that was still there for my first visit that I actually went on. Not to mention they looked lovely and peaceful on the lake :)

Toyland Tours was one of the most memorable parts of my childhood. I was deeply sad to see it go.

I LOVED the Black Hole but in Hindsight as much as it was a great ride that I feared second only to Oblivion, the crap throughput and age related unreliablity meant it probably went at the right time. Three years ago I would have asked for it back in an instant, but now we have The Smiler so the void has been more than adequately filled.

Other than that... I never rode Toyland (I dismissed it as a 'baby ride' :-[ ) but ANYTHING could be better than Charlie. The same can be said for Thunder Looper and Dynamo but I guess evolution is a good thing, flat rides in particular don't last forever.

There are so many rides that I would have loved to have gone on including Toyland Tours, Thunder Looper, Black Hole. These were due to either not being open or there was a big queue for it.

So I'll probably have to say Corkscrew as it was my first coaster that went upside down, which is ironic as I went on this but refused to go on Nemesis. Then a year later I returned to Towers and went on all the major coasters without any problems and loved them! :p

The Haunted House scared the living daylights out of me as a child. Although some of still exists in the form of duel, when riding now I just wish it was still HH every time.

Close second being thunderlooper, thunder valley, loved it.

I only rode TT once, and wasn't particularly interested then, perhaps why I don't have the same fondness as most on here.

Didn't like BH as a ride really, but enjoyed pressing my junk against the poor girl usually infront of me ;) (a friend, dont worry )

Corky, headbanging is all I remember, never thrilled me, not when the new coaster ( Nemmy ) was thrilling the pants off me all day. Like how it made AT what it is, but that was THEN, not when I went as a child.

Thunderlooper.

Followed by Black Hole, very closely.

In fact, I may even miss Black Hole a little bit more??!

Vintage cars, toy land tours and swan boats where the highlight of my childhood but corkscrew was amazing its the first coaster I went on

For me, it's the Black Hole.

The anticipation when I first heard on Newsround that Alton Towers were going to build a coaster then enclose it indoors (I so wish I'd had a video then and recorded that news report - lots of shots of the Jet Star II pre-dome).

The infamy that surrounded the ride. It was the scariest ride in the UK when it opened and you weren't anybody unless you had taken a ride on it.

That feeling of infinity inside, when it used to be pitch black bar the special effects, was one of AT's most magical experiences ever. Genuinely taking you out of this World.

And that 1996 re-theme, with the soundtrack and fog inside the ride... An almost beautiful experience.

Love the ride's replacement, but I'd love to see another epic, completely enclosed dark, indoor coaster at Alton Towers.

Corkscrew for me. It was the icon of the park and without it, we wouldnt have the Alton Towers we know of today. The sound of the lift hill as you approached it from the valley is something i'll always remember, as was the tump thump thump noise as you started your descent off the lift hill as the wheels sped up over the joins in the track.

You are mistaken, that was the sound of peoples heads bouncing around in the restraints.

A similar noise can be heard now on approach to The Smiler!

Thunder Looper without a doubt, a ride that definitely played a part in creating my theme park obsession and after finding its sister at Knotts Berry Farm I realised it is not just nostalgia; it is a damn good ride. Notable mentions to 1001 Nights, Black Hole and Corkscrew too for filling me with awe at various times.

One of my favourite things as a kid was the Alpine Bob, I'd probably like a go on that now more than any others! And I enjoyed the New Beast more than the black hole at the time, not being a fan of the dark for a while back then!

I know I went on Toyland Tours plenty but for some reason it didn't stick with me like it seems to have for many, I actually remember 80 days more clearly for some reason. Both were still a whole lot better than what we have now though!

I think all miss seeing the black hole tent, im a sucker for abandoned things. (which is why I love AT so much, because of the main house) But I did like the black hole, some good memories and laughs with a mate of mine on school trip in 2001. (Mostly involved us singing Yorkshire moors and Tetley bitter tra lalalala) I suppose you had to be there but still.

Sounds much like it's replacement then. ;)

Back on topic, yeah it has to be good 'ol Corky. It was my first inverting coaster, which as anybody will, leaves me with many fond memories.

Yeah it's successor may be fun, but it's no patch on Corkscrew. Th13teen doesn't have the charm that Corky had.

If I had the choice to scrap Th13teen and bring back Corkscrew. I'd do it.

To be honest, I don't miss Corkscrew one bit. You could go to many parks and find the exact same coaster or, better yet, a better model. It was replaced by a better coaster.

For me, the only options that can be in contention for this are Toyland Tours and the Haunted House, as they were all completely unique.
