Yes, in the 90's and early-to-mid noughties, the photo was taken before and after the corkscrew. Before for the two seats on the left, and after for the two seats on the right.

In that video, the ride looks just as fast as it was before the retrack.

Themeing is brilliant, the station both in and out was incredible, the coaster itself was just as fast, but definitely didn't feel as intense as it did before the retrack, still such an amazing ride and very glad it's back in action!

Regarding the lack of blood rivers, I've noticed that in one YouTube video in which Phalanx actors are interacting with the GP, one asked about the blood rivers and to Towers' credit, they seemed to have anticipated this question from some random enthusiast and the actor says that there is no blood rivers as that story is a conspiracy by the truth seekers and instead the waters are made of black current!
