Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion

Is that the latest government rule?
"Sorry, your Britcard Digital ID shows you have ridden Nemesis Reborn too many times this season. Because of this, there is a risk to your health therefore you are forbidden to ride it again until 12.15pm on 17th June 2026 when this prohibited period expires. Any attempt to ride Nemesis Reborn before this date will lower your social score, your bank will be informed and your home will be at risk. This is for your own safety and well-being - the British Government."

I am surprised I never saw it mentioned (unless I missed it) the fact that the new Nemesis speeds up once fully engaged onto the lift, something the old one did not do.

I wonder if that has an affect on people's perceived rides.

Yes I noticed that the very first time I rode it. The lift hill is noticeably faster if you've ridden the old one enough times to notice! You also feel the speed increase too if you're looking out for it as you start to climb. Although not very visible until the top of the lift hill, you can tell it's faster from this POV comparison:

I’m sure the old Nemesis used to have multi-move, whereas the new one doesn’t? The train now has to completely exit the station block zone before the one on the break run will advance, whereas before they’d both move at the same time.

Multimove isn't on the rebuild no, it did used to be on Nemesis. Not sure why they got rid of it.

Nemesis v1 also had a two speed lift. It would go slow if the other train was still competing the freefall section or traversing the brakes, and fast if the other train was in the station.

Apart from the moving station block, the other difference I noticed is when bringing a train into the station, the train parks then the floor rises. In the old version the floor would rise before it had finished parking.

But this speed doesn't seem to be normal speed and then slow. It seems to be 'normal' speed, as in the speed that the lift used to go at before, then faster, once the whole train is engaged on the lift. So the speeds seem to operate in the opposite way than before if that makes sense.

I wonder if this is try mitigate the tiny amount of time lost by not being able to have a train enter the station block whilst one is leaving - not sure. But the two speed lift now absolutely seems to be operating in a 'normal' and 'faster' configuration, rather than 'normal' and 'slower' configuration as the old one was, if that makes sense. The tiny amount of time lost per cycle by not allowing two trains in the station block, would absolutely eat away at the throughput over an hour, if only a small amount. Having a faster lift would bring those numbers back up, ever so slightly.

It also appeared that the higher speed engages on every lift cycle, rather than before where the slower lift mode would only engage when the block ahead was occupied but timings indicate it would soon be free. I could be wrong on parts, this is how it looked though. Interesting thoughts actually.
