I read the Independent. It's a little more in depth than other papers and I enjoy reading the weekly arts section in the Sunday paper. :)

As Uncyclopedia brilliantly points out, The Telegraph is for Tories who are self-satisfied and smug, The Mail is for Tories who hate themselves and the world, The Express is for Tories who are mad, and The Sun is for Tories that don't like to think of themselves as Tories.

Also from Uncyclopedia
If Tabloid Newspapers were communist regimes, The Sun would be the People's Republic of China (The one with the largest readerbase, but in no way the most remarkable), The Daily Telegraph would be the USSR just prior to 1991 (Not too bad, but in no way would it be considered respectable or trustworthy) the Daily Express would be Vietnam (Quite similar to The Sun and the Daily Mail, except no-one gives a crap about it other than for past controversies) and the Daily Mail would be North Korea (I think you can see what I'm trying to get across already).
Surprisingly accurate.

Well I seem to think it was a war so slagging of the other side is fair game in my view.

Anyway what would any of you lot know about the coverage of the Falklands war, you weren't even born!
Patriotism is fine. Supporting a war that should never have happened is fine. Celebrating the deaths of hundreds of Argentinians and pretty much refusing to acknowledge them as people however, is pretty bad.

How do you know how old I, or most of the people here are? Besides, most people alive weren't around for WW2, yet seem to know quite a lot about that.

And the Guardian would be the isle of man, tiny that nobody gives a shttt about.

So we should have let an act of aggression against our country slide then Blaze, Jesus lets drop the drawbridge and invite everyone to have a pop.
I don't revel in the deaths of solders but unfortunatly they are a casualty of war. Like to see the Argies have a pop now though with the type 45 on patrol that would single handedly wipe out their entire airforce.

As for how do I know how old you are I can tell by the post quality. ;D

I hope you don't buy it James just pop along to your nearest Holiday Inn and get it for free, there's always plenty left!

(they can't even give them away, ha ha)

I think you'll like this. If anything it's much more accurate than the Telegraph and Mail pages. Especially the 'A Guide to Guardianese' and 'Things The Grauniad Believes To Be True' sections

Interestingly, a while before the war, when Argentina first started getting a bit fighty, we sent a small force (a single ship I think it was) as a deterent. It worked. Also, I quote directly from Wikipedia, the Joint Intelligence Committee in 1977, 1979 and 1981 suggested that "as long as Argentina calculated that the British Government were prepared to negotiate seriously on sovereignty, it was unlikely to resort to force."

So basically, the war was a knee-jerk reaction to something that could have been solved diplomatically. And let's not go into whether or not tiny islands off the coast of Argentina somehow belong to Britain in this topic.

The i newspaper could actually be a very important sociological influencer in this country. Its circulation is growing all the time as more people realise its value at 20p.

I think a lot of people are drawn to The Sun because of its price, and the paper does prey on the sizeable number of people who have to watch the pennies.

Imagine what the average level of common sense in this country would be if everyone that bought the sun actually bought i.

I think it's a great paper, which I have only recently discovered to be honest.

With regards to the comment about unpopular papers leading this poll, and people being detached from reality - many people will have voted for what they read online versions of.

Guys, there is a button at the bottom of every post which says "Flag Post", if you have an issue with somebodies posting, press that. I have removed a number of posts.

There is no need to be discussing this here.

Just had to remove a post, and replies to it, that were totally off topic. Can we keep this about newspapers rather than how funny members are please? It's really not cool that this has to come straight after Wilsy's post...

Thanking you :)

If I read a paper it's The Sun as it has the best sport
Actually, that's, surprisingly, The Guardian. They're the only paper with a large sports section that scores above 30% in how accurate its football rumours are. The Sun, if I remember rightly, is stuck around 20%.

a nice girl to look at!
There's enough free porn on the internet, why would this affect your choice of paper?

Probably because of the intelligent and completely unedited opinions each Page 3 girl seems to have these days.

'Louise says "I fully agree with the 2011 bill legislation to..."'

Madeline McCann back on the front of The Express. Can't help but feel they'd still be interested if she was an ugly, working-class, Muslim child.
