Oakwood Discussion

I would book a weekends stay to go on Megafobia.

At the end of the day it’s just the same principle as cruise ships with coasters on, which only cruise ship passengers can access.

I would normally not believe this type of rumour, but as @Matt Cartmill was an Oakwood employee for many years and continued to work there even after the closure was announced, I am not going to dismiss it straight away. Like he said, it should be taken with a pinch of salt. But I don’t think it should be just dismissed straight away.
Fair play. But my flabber will be well and truly ghasted if this turns out to be true, even more so if it’s true AND they keep Megafobia running. And I have a lot of flabber to be ghasted.

All that said, I also said nonsense to Shockwave’s sit down train, so you shouldn’t listen to anything I say in any shape or form! 😂

I’ll admit I’d be surprised if Center Parcs bought the Oakwood site.

Bluestone is right next door, so it would feel a bit strange for them to build a new site on the Oakwood land alone. Even if they did buy Bluestone as well, it would surprise me because it’s some years since they last bought and converted a site rather than building ground-up, if I’m not wrong.

If it did happen, I also don’t see there being a great amount of chance that Megafobia would survive such a development, unfortunately. Never say never, I guess, but a roller coaster would seem like an odd transition for Center Parcs’ whole brand given that they’ve never had theme park rides in any of their prior parks.

I’m open to surprises, but I’ll admit to being sceptical on this one.
