A very much doubt it and I also hope it doesn't happen. Oblivion does not need a re-theme. It's theme's great although it could do with some TLC it's still very intimidating winding up that queue. I have a bit of a soft spot for it. I queued in it when I was a kid (too small to ride it) and it terrified me. It's well done but does need so doing up.I've heard rumours that a re-theme of Oblivion could be on the cards. This is a suprise to be honest as I'm not really sure it needs a complete re-theme.![]()

Well there was a roaming actor wearing orange clothing at Scarefest so if we use our imagination.........Oh good. Now we can have someone state as fact that oblivion is closing for a year for a referb every page for 3 years.
Get rid of the old projector in the queue line a replace it will a big egg?Perhaps the drop will be enclosed in a building and the ride will be renamed as Oblivion: Sub Terra.

They've mildly rebranded Oblivion's merchandise this year with a shoddy recreation of the original logo (logo itself has different proportions, and the font for the name is different). Not sure why this was necessary as the old logo always looked great and is readily available/easily reproducible at hi res, and the intern new version put me off wanting to buy anything.
After a very brief discussion in another thread about the old Oblivion shop I want to know what you think should happen to it?
I think leaving it empty is silly as its A) a good space as loads of people walk past it. B) There's plenty you could do it there for a low budget.
Now I'm thinking on the lines of an expansion of the arcade or maybe some form of F&B outlet. A new shop in there would be fine too but with the smiler shop so close by I'm not sure that's necessary. I'm afraid to say that the likelihood is that it will be left empty for the foreseeable future which would be a shame as its a nice spot to put something in my opinion.
I always find walking past it frustrating as it leaves not that much of a gap to get by when everyone is looking at there ride photo. It also makes the corridor look empty and forgotten.

Single rider would be very easy to add back on to Oblivion, as the queue is still there and it doesn’t require any extra staff as you have people using the fastrack queue anyway.
This absolutely needs to happen.
With space for 6 people across one train, I see so many gaps / empty seats on this ride. Sometimes even just two or three individuals per train.
Decent, healthy vegan/vegi buffet F&B outlet with tables under a roof. After a very brief discussion in another thread about the old Oblivion shop I want to know what you think should happen to it?

Something Towers is very short of.
No meat...as a headline feature.
Not an awful option and could work but what about a more general restaurant with non-meat options as a headline but still selling meat to so it caters to a wider audience?Decent, healthy vegan/vegi buffet F&B outlet with tables under a roof.

I also think something like a salad bar could work.
Yes your probably right, hence why there were rumours a few years ago that they where going to close the one in forbidden valley.how much do the Arcades around AT really make? Whenever I have been they are normally dead, not sure if extending it would be worth it
But in total surely the amount that would cater for would be lower. Surely a general restaurant would make far more sense. Some vegans don't like eating in meat shops.

Indoor seating is one thing the park is very much lacking. The picnic tables this year on the lawn has helped improve the amount of seating in general and of course for covid reasons outdoor seating made a lot more sense. But as you say the park really needs more covered seating.
Just using the Oblivion shop for additional seating for the fried chicken shop would help.
I assume the arcade must make money otherwise HB Leisure would have removed it by now though.

Ive always thought the old Oblivion shop would be a prime space for a modern Ministry of Joy themed funhouse / walkthrough / mirror maze. Every area should really have something for little ones / timid guests to enjoy while others ride the coasters. Have it set up so it doesn’t require many staff members and it can be easily converted for Scarefest too. A great use of the space that would be easily achieved
That;s a great idea and I'm sure it could be setup so it needs no staff at all. Especially if it's just a mirror maze.Ive always thought the old Oblivion shop would be a prime space for a modern Ministry of Joy themed funhouse / walkthrough / mirror maze. If anyone can get accurate plans / dimensions for that building I’d be keen to throw together a concept proposal ! It can’t be that expensive and is an occasion where leek signs vinyls would probably be useful . Throw in a preshow video to batch groups and you’re sorted, new attraction with just 1 staff memberYou know, that's a really good idea actually!![]()
Sorted! Such a great idea @tayspru I genuine think it could work and it would also support some of the concerns raised in other threads about the lack of things the whole family can do.If anyone can get accurate plans / dimensions for that building I’d be keen to throw together a concept proposal ! in terms of dimensions for the room I have no idea at all. I've checked the planning archive: https://towersstreet.com/construction/oblivion/#plansconcepts but can't find any plans for the shop and definitely no dimensions. I've also looked for the original planning submission but it doesn't seem to be available online.
