Ocean Kingdom China 2013: B&M Wingrider "Flying Over The Rainforest"

2013 - New Park - Under Construction - (4/3/13) Coaster-Net reports that B&M’s new Wing Coaster going into China, known as Flying Over The Rainforest at Ocean Kingdom, will feature the first “watersplash” element seen on a Wing Coaster. Since the description of the element placed it in the middle of the ride instead of the end, I’ve got a hunch that this may be more of a special effect ‘splashdown’, much like Manta at SeaWorld Orlando, and not a true splashdown as seen on many B&M Dive Machines as well as Dimondback at Kings Island.
A splash down on a wing coaster? Yes please! ;D
I don't like the fake splashdowns. Never mind the fact that they shouldn't be called splashdowns as it's just waterjets (a la Shambhala), they also just look really artificial and are more interactive than realistic.

The 'splashdowns' on shambhala and manta are beautiful. I much prefer the artificial splashes. However, I think the swarms looks really cheap and messy.

So, I decided to look for an update on this park. I'm not sure it will be opening this year any more but that's not the point of this post. Here are a few of the original concept images for the park:
They look quite incredible in terms of theming. I was thinking they'd be no chance of them pulling off such elaborate and impressive theming. However here are a few construction photos:
They are pulling it off! The walruses look amazingly epic! Here are a few other photos of a couple of things in the park and the huge hotel that is being built:
I can't quite believe the scale of everything. It's not often you see crazy concepts actually pulled off. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing some photos of this park once it's open.

This picture is confusing my brain, it's like looking at ASS on drugs.
The theming around the park is coming along nicely. The hotel in particular looks incredible, I can't believe how much it dwarfs it's surroundings.

My principle concern, due to Rainbow Magicland, is whether the theming build quality is going to stand the test of time...

Agreed! I think it looks rather bland. There's no real creativity there.

I really like the look of this. My, much longer layout than Raptor or Swarm, all though it's a little dull towards the end.

You will notice at one point it goes into a tunnel where there are glass panels covered with white plastic, which is where I believe riders will be given a future view into a yet to open animal exhibit area.

Hot damn. And it's not an ASS clone, as it has a whole meandering pre-ride bit at the start! It looks beautiful too, if you ignore the bit at 1:40... surely that is an unfinished dark ride section...? They can't leave it like that...? But then again, this is China. Lighthouse is also a bit bare, could do with theming inside. Plaster those walls with stuff!
