Paultons Park: General Discussion

It odd because i absolutely love what Paultons are doing with investing in themed areas, but part of me misses the charm the park had pre 2010

I actually agree, I liked Raging River and Dragon Roundabout because they were a remaining part of the old Paultons, as well as being two of the first rides I ever rode!

Very excited to see what Paultons are planning though, their new investments are always incredible quality.

Loads of parks that need a log flume - I wonder who will get it?

Lightwater Valley, Great Yarmouth, Blackgang Chine, Dreamland Margate, somewhere smaller, somewhere overseas?

Alton Towers hopefully 😅 Maybe Bianca has answered our prayers with a Retrosquad Log Flume 🤣😂😅😜🤪😝😛
If Dreamland bought the log flume, I would probably bother to go there since I live nearby, and it would be nice to have an easy-to-reach log flume.

That’s true, but I wonder out of interest how much Lost Kingdom would have cost the park when it opened in 2016 with two Vekoma coasters, Boulder Dash, and the tracked Dinosaur Tour ride? Not a massive amount by the standards of Merlin or other big boys but it must have been a good investment and one that worked out really well for the park, though they’d be looking at coasters the next level up though now.
This news article from 2016 says 9 million. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-hampshire-36304168.amp
Tornado Springs with the Junior coaster must have cost around £12-£15 million mark.

Paulton's website has planned ride closures displayed till April 2026!! Very cool, don't think i've seen any theme park in the world with that much advance notice.

Magma is due to reopen in March 2025 and Edge in May 2025 interestingly...

I mentioned this a few weeks ago; though, Edge reopens after it's planned and usual winter maintenance on 23rd March 2025.

Magma and Cobra should be open after their winter maintenance from February onwards, before closing earlier than notmal later in the year (November and September respectively), before a prolonged closure through till (at least) the end of April 2026.

Intamin have just uploaded this video of their new family launch coaster model on Youtube, it is capable of airtime and inversions...
Could this be what Paulton's are getting for 2026? Possibly.

Very interesting that it's only a 1m height restriction but can do inversions. Off the top of my head I can't actually think of any 1m coasters that invert.

Do children at 1m want to go on an inverting coaster? Mandrill Mayhem has been criticised for being too intimidating and that’s 1.2m. We are talking potentially about 3 and 4 year olds!

There are some brave ones that likely would to be honest.

It is possible that the 1m height requirement is the bare minimum for that model and could be used in practice for non-inverting installations.

It would be amazing if it was used in an inverting installation with a 1m height requirement however there is a possibility that it could be 1.1m or 1.2m for those installations with inversions in practice.

It'd still be amazing if the inverting coaster did have a lower than 1.2m height requirement.
