Paultons Park: General Discussion

Here’s a few pictures of the ex-Temple Heights site I took earlier today. Perks of having Paultons Park only about 15 minutes away from me!

It’s interesting that it says opening 2024. Suggests to me that it’s going to be something worthwhile (I hope!).

Paultons 100% know what they are doing so I think whatever they build will be to a standard of what they have already built or higher. A rapids would be an amazing addition to the park if it turns out to be one. Also they could then get rid of their log flume to make even more space down that end of the park for future investment.

It’s not yet perfect but it’s the only park in the uk that I get excited about future developments!

If they're starting work now and it opens in 2024 then you'd like to think it is going to be fairly substantial. Although no doubt starting so early does also allow them to spread the cost of the project across two financial years.

Paultons does need a good water ride, hopefully this is it.

If its something like the rapids at Legendia that Hafema built it could be a great ride. Especially themed into the dinosaur area.

Plus it's great to see how after the initial areas being built they've continued to add to them in later seasons.

Does seem interesting now with that survey seeing how this was clearly already planned.

Does the 4D cinema take both sides of the building?

If they remove what used at the back of the building they could easily install a good sized dark ride.

The building opposite is just toilet block, some staff areas, I think some classroom type space. All stuff that could go elsewhere. The path down the middle isn't needed either. That whole area could be raised for quite a substantial development, darkride or otherwise.

First aid is in one of those buildings (next to the classroom).

Probably could do with regenerating the entrance area a bit though. Or at least redesigning it to suit the presumably larger crowds they aim to target sooner rather than later.

The old 4d theatre building is a good choice for an indoor ride. They won't need planning permission which could be an issue elsewhere on the park as it's just inside the New Forest national park area. I do think the entrance street needs a revamp. Allot of underused space and it looks a bit dated.

Just wondering if this could possibly be a hafema log flume and not a rapids. Something like Mami Wata could fit in that area and would take up less space than a rapids.

They already have the Raging River Log Flume, so I’d argue that a rapids could be more likely because it’s something they don’t already have.

I could be wrong, however, and I do think that a Hafema log flume could be a feasible fit to allow them to remove Raging River for a different development…

Considering that Paultons is becoming a true 'theme' park with Lost Kingdom and Tornado Springs, I can see Raging River Log Flume being removed soon. A Hafema log flume could be what Paultons ends up with!

The artwork looks very similar to the Buffalo Falls artwork when Tornado Springs was announced. Could be Raging River last year next season and removed at the end of 2023. I'd be happy with either tbh. Both would no doubt have good scenery and audio so I hope I'm not getting hopes up for nothing.
