Paultons Park: General Discussion

One thing I have always wanted to know with Paultons Park and other parks with their park railway do they have their own dedicated maintenance trains like a truck or flatbed to move sleepers and ballast to respective spots

Probably just drive next to it in a van/pick up and work out the back of that.

For anyone who's interested, accessibility and ride restrictions information for Ghostly Manor is now on the website;

No height restriction, but riders must be 5 or over to ride with an adult and 8 or over to ride alone.

Lots more construction updates. Apparently the new footer cages are Mack but seems they are already building the 2027 coaster as well according to some on Coasterforce?

There seems to be some speculation about a 2027 investment which is rumoured to be a water coaster.

There doesn't seem to be any credible source or confirmation from the park.

I will assume whatever is happening at the Go Karts is also for 2026 until stated otherwise.

I said this over on CoasterForce, but I’m not convinced by the 2026 coaster being a water coaster myself. If it was, I feel like we’d have seen more channel-type construction around by Cobra, and unless they’re wanting to premiere the world’s first inverting water coaster, I also feel like Mack’s current ones wouldn’t fit the brief of 1.2m height restriction and inverting that’s been specified for the 2026 coaster.

If one comes, I could see it being that 2027 project that replaces the Go-Karts that’s been spoken about.

I’m still placing my bets on an Intamin Hot Racer for 2026 myself, but am open to surprises!

What time is the livestream tomorrow?

We know from the memo that was sent out to staff a few weeks back that the project will be in two phases, with a new coaster and "UK first" second ride around Cobra's site for 2026 followed by a new attraction on the Go Karts site for 2027 (See @James Watkins' post below). I do think a water coaster is likely, and it will be the go karts area project if so. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't announce the go-karts replacement at tomorrow's event, and keep that announcement for next year's event on the opening day of the first phase of Vikings.

Per this post on CoasterForce, a memo sent out to staff reveals a few more details of what to expect in the Viking area...

2026
  • New coaster with a 1.2m height restriction
  • 'UK first' second ride
2027
  • New ride replacing the Go Karts
I'm not surprised this is at least a 2 phase project. Exciting few years ahead!

Edit: The following coaster models come to mind...
  • Most likely: New gen Vekoma, likely with a launch akin to Formula or Abyssus
  • Less likely: Intamin Hot Racer - not sure Paultons would want the 1 across seating
  • Least likely: GCI Wooden coaster with inversion - a less tried and tested model
I'm not sure there are other inverting 1.2m options, other than something strange like Mandrill Mayhem? ... or dare I say RMC?!
(The new Family LSM Intamin is only 1.0m 🤔)

So a new family thrill coaster and thrill flat in 2026 followed by maybe another junior coaster / ride in 2027?

They seem to be replicating their Tornado Springs Journey. Pretty sensible if you ask me as that area is fantastic.

It’s sounding as though they might be taking a two-phase approach to Vikings similar to that they took with Tornado Springs, yes.

If we got a more thrilling coaster and flat ride in 2026 followed by a Mack water coaster in 2027 to replace the Go-Karts, as some are suggesting, I would not complain one bit!
