Paultons Park: General Discussion

Perhaps in the interest of fairness as the general consensus seems to be there will be 1 coaster and 1 flat announced for 2026, you can pick one of the Mack options and i'll note your Intamin Flume under 2027 along with a note of your 4 ride prediction?
Let's go with that, I'm thinking Twist N Splash with the coaster and then we can go with the flume for 2027

Completely appreciate the fairness and fun of the guesses 🙂 I'm looking forward to what they announce tomorrow.

I did make a cheeky little poll on the tpg live blog tomorrow

Can't wait to see what they announce, I don't think we will get a name but we will almost definitely see an artwork or video.

I am greatly and mortally offended that you have not included Maurer in the options. I hope you have egg on your face tomorrow. Not goose egg, that would be sad. Chicken egg is fine.

The one thing I wish Paultons would get is a wooden coaster because history has shown wooden coasters do pretty well at family theme parks

Ask and you shall receive 😏

Just added that. There’s still time to get it to number 1

Looking at the footings I don’t think it’s a Woden coaster. But who knows

The mirror have announced Vikings already:

A few highlights;
The area of the land is going to be called Valgard – Realm of the Vikings.

No manufacturer or ride type specified, but the new coaster called 'Drakon' is going to feature a vertical lift with 2 inversions

A flat ride. The Vild Swing will make Paultons Park the first UK theme park to install a thrilling swing by ART Engineering.

Cobra is being rethemed, as 'Raven'

Strong hints towards a water coaster in 2027, but nothing confirmed.

No mention of Edge or Magma.

That sounds very, very Gerstlauer to me, if it’s true… I hope it’s an Infinity Coaster, but it does sound very Euro-Fighter like.

I’ll, rightly or wrongly, be a little bit disappointed if it’s a Euro-Fighter, truth be told. Maybe this is just me being unfairly picky, but there have already been 3 in Britain, and I’m not sure what new ground Paultons could break with the ride type. And while I haven’t done Rage, I haven’t been the biggest fan of Saw or Speed. Admittedly, though, I haven’t done one of the newer ones like Vindfald or Vertika.

Nonetheless, I guess it would be a nice compact “first inversion” type coaster that would fit Paultons’ demographic and general style well! And I guess it also wouldn’t be out of character with their typical approach of “buy more conservative rides and theme them really well” either, which seems to be working well for them thus far.

I feel exactly the same. Still optimistic there’s more to it as essentially building a 20 year old ride that as you say already exists in multiple forms in the south of the country would be very underwhelming and would have very little appeal to attracting “new” visitors.

Did Gerst fall out of favour with the UK market following the Smiler incident? Would be surprised to see them make a comeback after over a decade.

Not really, there were some minor recommendations for Gerst around the visability of block sections on their control panel displays but the blame for the accident was firmly placed with the operator not the manufacturer.

It’s rumoured Gerst won’t work with Merlin but never heard anyone suggest other UK parks won’t work with Gerst.
