Phantasialand: General Discussion

I think it may also have something to do with parts being made with different operating tolerances for different countries.

A ride built in Orlando will need to withstand different temperatures and conditions on a regular basis to a ride built in Britain, for example. You occasionally see rides close at Alton Towers due to “extreme heat” when we have a particularly hot spell (such as the one we had in 2022), but you never see this in Orlando where the temperatures climb to Britain’s “extreme heat” threshold on quite a regular basis in the summer months.

Following the removal of water play area Octowuzy earlier this year, Phantasialand have fenced off the site and included part of the neighbouring backstage area and the seating area of the neighbouring existing Quick Service. Part of this site has been excavated by a few meters and a foundation are being poured in the pit.
What is being built here is unknown.

Berlin is also home to considerable construction work with a new platform along the back of the square. This platform includes a significant backstage balcony hanging over the back of the building below and a vertical wall which has been themed. The purpose of this all is again unclear. Before this was built work also took place to renew the roof and ceiling of the existing passageway including insulation; suggesting it might be enclosed in future?

Along the side of the square which borders Mexico, following the enclosure and theming of the passageway behind, is receiving new facades and two new buildings. One of these is being fitted out with electrics and insulation leading to speculation it will become a quick service food outlet - potentially a permanent replacement of the Kaiser Snack removed a couple years ago.

Work throughout the year to build a new themed division between Mexico and Klugheim of buildings, facades and a new stairway down from the bridge to the Chiapas exit is approaching the end. A few on the new Mexico buildings along the bridge top have Wintertraum market stalls set up in them.

Wintertraum starts this weekend - the Mexico night time show with fire effects and projection mapping Tiempo de Fuego has been retired and a new show will be debuting this year.

Hmmm...they've dug down quite a bit there.. perhaps we're getting a double decker Wuzeball in 2025.

With this being an area where anything too noisy could jeopardise operations, it's likely to be a play structure or something small.

I believe their Splash Battle rarely operates because houses are close to the area the ride operates and neighbours have objected to the ride and any possible expansion of the park outside of the park's boundaries at the moment.

When I visited last week, Talocan, Chiapas, River Quest, and of course the splash battle were all down all day.

I wasn’t too bothered about any of them except Chiapas. It’s such a central location and iconic ride. Otherwise a very good day, but I really missed Chiapas.

Hi all,

I’ve been to Phantasialand twice before yesterday…I was actually really dissapointed due to the amount of people they let in. It was so busy…the paths and the queues all day were awful! The previous visits queues were very manageable, but yesterday I felt like leaving earlier then closing.

I get that it’s the winter event but it was not fun, the guy closed the taron extended line bit (cattle pen) in front of us and we stood there for what felt an age as we weren’t moving and could not see the end of the queue.

it’s a shame as I ranked the park very highly previously. And also the car park getting out was bad, not a member of staff in sight to help.

Wintertraum is very beautiful and it's a shame if you can't appreciate it due to a full park. I had the chance to visit on a weekday a few years back and the queues were smaller than on a wednesday in june.

I’ve just taken the plunge and will be doing 24th and 25th January (from around 2pm on the Thursday and all day Friday) - hoping it will be enough time to get all the coasters and then hopefully some of the more unique rides too

It’s a solo trip, is there much in the way of Single Rider ?

Taron has a single rider queue.

Taron and Raik are the only two rides at Phantasialand with a Single Rider queue. 😊
