Phantasialand: General Discussion

Of course we will have to wait to see the finished product but this does look to be on par with or even surpassing Disney quality in terms of a themed environment for a coaster. That is the biggest complement you can pay this project in my eyes. The detail is immense, and if Disney were to do this exact some project it would probably cost them at least double the amount of money!

:)

I think it's the fact they have nothing like Disney budgets available, and they're working in such a condensed environment, the more I see of this the more truly epic and staggering I find it.

I just hope the rumours of it being BETTER with more detail than the amazing modelling that's been done proves to be correct.

It would be worth a visit for that theme alone, never mind the fact it's got a snaking multi launched Intamin with utterly ooft inducing trains!

The ride's important, ALWAYS top of my list of importance, but it's hard to see how the environment wont enhance this ride even if it's not the most thrilling ever. But if Intamin have got this right as well, we could be looking at one of the best all round coaster experiences going.

Some of these smaller Euro parks are putting the big guns to shame.

Epic, absolutely epic! Chiapas and Mamba alone wouldn't have got me there I don't think - adding this, makes this place a must visit IMO, and let's not forget they're rammed a bloody family Vekoma boomerang also being themed (how scarce is that!) to ensure the little ones get the same kind of experience! Truly wonderful!

Has Wardley buggered off to Germany and not told us? :D

Anyone checked for a Johann Vordley working there?

Is anyone else glad this thread has finally moved to a new page? It was taking an eternity to load for me with all those images! :p

As promised more Klugheim updates!

Turns out Taron's station has a large window on one side of the curved roof.

Small windows on the other side.

As circled more theming has been added to River Quest. Only 16 days until it opens so it'll be great to see the finished look of my favourite water ride!

More work is being carried out on this crane. On the left you can also see another cool window.

Now the enclosure of Raik's lifthills has been completed and the scaffolding removed. The gap between this building and the River Quest tower is being filled with a wooden wall.

Interesting station design. The glass window almost seems out of place amongst all that stone and wood. But of course, we shall have to see it for real to judge...
.... BTw, am I the only one that thought there was a giant star of David on the station at first?

Diogo...me too !

I also thought that on some images, Taron looked kind of "evil" with those red eyes...so it would have fitted !

The whole theme of klugheim is kind of dark, isn`t it ?

Mmmmm noooooo, it's definately not a pentagram. I did say "at first". On closer inspection, it's clearly neither.

Yep..I guess this is so "worrying" it`s like the end of the world :D

Bigger problems anyone ? ;)

You might want to look up what the Star of David is. Hopefully that will make sense of things.

And you, go back and read the whole post! I wasn't talking to you!

Klugheim updates.

More detail (wooden planks) have been added to this crane.

Some basalt rocks have materialised in the River Quest pool.

Right where Klugheim meets the Mexico area a tunnel has been built. However one end has been closed up making it more of a cave. Not a clue what its purpose is?

The enclosure of the sides of Raik has continued. The wood has been darkened.

As Dragons were the focus of Phantasialand's most recent official update Tobi has shown all the dragons he is aware of.

^ Rumours have been going around for a while now that the dome would be removed along with the events tent and houses behind it.

A wooden building has been built in recent months on the former site of the Smoky Diggers Camp - possible events space?
Also the houses have also been stripped out and it is assumed they will be soon demolished.

Certainly all the evidence points to the rumours of a park extension onto this land being true. Will be interesting to see will this new area be an extension of the Berlin or Fantasy areas or an entirely new themed area, and what attraction(s) could be built.
The next new Phantasialand mega project seems to be coming...

But back to Taron the park reopens on Saturday so we shall finally get some real photos of the area!
