Phantasialand: General Discussion

I assume the theather mentioned would take Fantissima and potentially leave room for Hollywood Tour/Bats/Fantissima to be flattened and a new area opened up.
Yes, this is the main reason that building has survived as long as it has and they added the VR overlay.

We wait with baited breath but another moderation process, council promises, etc. it’s all been done before so will be interesting to see if this time something actually happens.

Suppose previously there was the extra hurdle of the land ownership which has now been resolved by the state and the park in 2021 after nearly 20 years of debate. And they now have a non-hostile to the park local council.
But to overcome the final hurdle of the neighbours and environmentalists will not be easy, if even possible.

It's a shame Wakaboto is such a dead area due to the noise issue, but I imagine they're barred from building on it?

I've been to Phantasialand 4 times and I think I've walked past Crazy Bats/Hollywood tour once just to sit down on a bench. Never been near the actual ride station.

Wakobato is a weird one. I think they deliberately keep it closed at times to try to placate the locals but I've never really cared enough about the ride to figure out when it actually operates. I've been down that way only a coupe of times but never bothered to go on it.

What is Wuzeball anyways? I can't seem to get any search results on this
Wuzeball is the prototype Intamin Zac Spin, it's located behind the Temple of the Nighthawk building in Wuze Town but surrounded by trees. There is a gate next to the old toilet block here, and if you look over that you can just about make it out. Due to many ongoing technical issues it is rarely open, hence it is such an elusive cred. I've only been on it once, got lucky on my first visit in 2012.

Because of the issues Phantasialand themselves don't even acknowledge its existence these days.

In all honesty it's a bit rubbish!

This recent Wakobato discussion got me curious so I looked into the data on queue-times. Apparently it was last open on 29th March but not on any other day this year. I wouldn't be surprised if even that was wrong and it wasn't open then either as opening it for a single day would certainly be a choice.

It's still shown on the park map and listed as attraction in the app so whatevers going they're being very stealthy about it. TBH they could probably close it permanently without saying anything and no-one would ever ask them about it

It's currently listed as "temporarily closed" on the Phantasialand website.

It’s such an elusive cred that Google Earth satellite images and drone footage of the area doesn’t even show it. Now that’s elusive!
You've probably heard what Phantasialand are like to paying visitors trying to get photos they'd prefer not to have taken. Imagine what they're like to Google and those drone operators...

Germany does have very strict privacy laws when it comes to public photos / filming. Just look how many windows you see blurred out on street view. I'd imagine they've told Google to use an older pic from before it was built, and paste that in to all modern maps.
