Pleasurewood Hills

On the surface, Pleasurewood and Oakwood have a lot in common. They're both very regional and got over 500,000 visitors at their peak. Not to be sniffed at. However, I think it's fair to say that Pleasurewood has kept a better reputation than Oakwood. Also, Great Yarmouth is a bigger resort than Tenby (3 - 4 times as popular), and the desire for theme parks in the region is more likely to remain.

I hope.

As for what coaster they could get, I think all of these would work:

  • Vekoma Family Coaster (eg. Yeti Trek)
  • Vekoma Family Suspended Coaster
  • Gerstlauer Bobsled
  • Gerstlauer Family Coaster/Airtime Coaster (eg. Mecalodon)
  • Intamin Family Launch Coaster (eg. Juvelen)
  • Intamin Family Coaster (like the Lift & Launch)
  • Intamin Family LSM Coaster
  • GCI woodie
  • Gravity Group woodie

Ideally full circuit, without any complicated backward sections or switch tracks. Also important to get a family-thrill ride, in my opinion. Too scary and it doesn't have broad enough appeal. Too minor and it won't do the job.

An Airtime Coaster from Gerstlauer would be a great USP; It would be the first in the UK and second in the world!

Looping Groups parks are more well known to
Being more well known is irrelevant. You said that PWH won’t close down because it’s run by a big company.

Oakwood was run a big company, arguably a bigger company than Looping, but it shut down.

And I wouldn’t say that Looping is even more well known than Aspro anyway. I know loads of people who’ve visited Aqualand parks on holiday, all of which are owned by Aspro.

To reiterate my point, as we’ve seen with Oakwood, a park being run by a large company doesn’t make it immune from closure.

I believe the main difference between Looping and Aspro is that Looping run more theme parks whilst Aspro run more aquariums/aquatic parks and water parks (especially over in Mediterranean areas).

Other than Oakwood, Aspro only ran the Walygator parks and a smaller park in Belgium at the time with one other park closed.

Looping Group run a larger amount of theme parks across their group with one having lower attendance than Pleasurewood Hills.

It is possible they may start investing something into Pleasurewood Hills at some point to keep it going although it'd likely be a family coaster, secondhand or a cheaper manufacturer if anything.

I’d definitely agree that whatever we see installed at PWH (if anything) will be a secondhand family coaster.

It’s so bizarre that Looping treat PWH this way compared with how well they seem to look after their others. I mean, I’d arguably say that PWH is actually more neglected than Oakwood was.

Visited at the weekend and was not great. See my very short video for some insight.

Jolly Roger was closed once more with a part of the ride stripped off sitting on the platform.

They have taken the guns out of Rootin Tootin too

Cannonball Express looks on its last legs too with random drive wheels and motors dismantled and abandoned.

That said some parts of the park have been touched up and Wipeout looks a lot better.

Is that someone hanging over the edge of a ride car in that TikTok?!?!?

Also this place is absolutely done for. Reverse seared and seasoned.

I not been myself but I been told that the West Midlands Safari Park is also looking tired in areas.
I watched Shawn’s vlog from Pleasure Wood and it does look like a park that needs new attractions and the looping group could have easily gone and brought 2nd hand rides from Flambards and Oakwood..
