Plopsaland De Panne announces a second major investment for 2019
De Panne, October 2, 2018
Shortly after the announcement of a first investment for 2019, Plopsaland De Panne unveils yet more investment projects. In addition to the Wizzy & Woppy area, the immensely popular Tree Trunks will also undergo extensive refurbishment. The aquatic attraction will be revamped following the theme of the habitat of dinosaurs.
Just two weeks ago, Plopsaland De Panne announced an investment that would redesign the entire Wizzy & Woppy zone according to the K3 theme. In doing so, the existing Rollerskater and its restaurant will be re-dressed in the K3 spirit. Today, the park announces that the Trunks of Trees will also benefit from a complete renovation. "The Tree Trunks, an attraction that just like the Rollerskater still dates from the 'Meli Park' era, also needs to be refreshed from the ground up," says Wim Wauters, Park Manager of Plopsaland De Panne. "We believe it is important to continue to invest permanently, also in existing areas, so that they remain attractive and up-to-date," says Plopsa Group CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof.
The 'log' type attraction was built in 1989 and is part of the Castle Square. The attraction of tree trunks, currently dressed according to the theme of Samson & Gert, will be totally naked and dressed according to the theme of dinosaurs. "Given the enormous popularity of dinos with children, and after the successful integration of Dino Splash at Plopsa Coo, it is a logical decision to also introduce dinosaurs to Plopsaland De Panne," adds Steve Van den Kerkhof. "We are convinced of the continued popularity of dinos with children. Thus, we also feed development projects as part of school and educational projects on this theme. "
Hyperrealistic dinosaurs
"The Trunks of Trees will become an attraction that will offer an intense experience. In addition to the thrills experienced by the visitors during the two big drops that the attraction makes, many original elements will reinforce the experience of the attraction, through a thematization pushed ", underlines Steve Van den Kerkhof enthusiastically. "Thus, visitors will navigate through a prehistoric landscape and cross animated hyperrealistic dinosaurs. The small boat will make its way along volcanoes erupting and lava flows. "Visitors will also have a view of the route from The Dragon, the popular family attraction. The cost of the investment amounts to some 5 million euros. The opening is scheduled for the summer of 2019.
