Quick Questions

Thanks for the responses, it would be really helpful if the parks had a coffee shop that was accessible without paying the entrance fee. Are the AT accomodation restaurants open to the general public?

They are, but the hotels aren't open at the start of the season due to Covid.

If you're going after 17th May then absolutely! Apart from CBBH, all are open to the public. I've had chill out days before where I've just hung out at the hotels. You can have a nice lunch, a few drinks, and a walk around. If the monorail was open, they could also get that to the park entrance and back to the hotels if they fancied a walk outside the grounds or into Alton Village.

Apologies if this is common knowledge, but I'm visiting the park for the first time in a while just over a week after it opens again. We're staying over at the star gazing pods so I imagine we'll be entering through the galactica entrance. What route would people recommend we take around the park to get the most rides and shortest queues in? I'm curious especially with changes due to social distancing which order people think is the most efficient

The general rule is go in the opposite direction to everyone else. The fact that you're entering via Galactica means you can get on that and Nemesis before any real queues build up on them. If the Skyride is open, head over to Dark Forest, then work your way round to X-Sector then Wicker Man.

What happened to the red dye in the Nemesis waterfall?

saying that, is the water even flowing?
 
It was something to do with water filtration issues in the local area that made them stop using the red dye; the water going to people’s homes was apparently getting dyed red.

I didn’t see any water flowing underneath the first drop last season. The waterfall by the stall turn before the loop was also dry on the days I went. I know it’s not allowed to be red anymore but it would be nice to see them all flowing even clear.
 
Seems hit and miss if they are on. They were certainly on at times last season, but probably off more than they were on.
 
Just to clarify, the dye did leak into local water courses - but it wasn’t an environmental hazard in itself - the dye wasn’t harmful and didn’t cause any harm.

However just the sight of red water running through the local river/stream etc was enough to cause concern for anyone seeing it. So the Environment Agency asked the park not to use it going forward.

As I understand it, an important distinction; they weren't asked to stop using it as a closed system and it wasn't leaking out as such. They were asked to stop accidently draining the whole reservoir into water system but due to general incompetence they repeatedly did just that. Rather than build a fail safe system to stop this being possible they just stopped using the dye.
