Quick Questions

If seen you should be made to remove it
But why? I wear it round my waist under my hoodie so there is zero chance of it coming off. As long as it's clipped in place it should be fine. Having a bum bag strapped properly and tightly round your waist is no different to having a watch strapped to your wrist. Over the shoulder ones yes, they should be removed.

Before they worry about safely strapped bum bags round your waist, they need to be more concerned stopping with those idiots who sneak out their phones or small go-pro type cameras once the train has left the station.

Remember this is quick questions not a discussion topic about bags and loose items :).

The rules are no bags or loose items on coasters, if you start putting ifs and buts in for type of bag then arguments start and it causes problems for guests and staff - staff do not have the time to determine what's secure on an individual basis. There are signs up stating loose items should be secured, and short of full on metal detectors and pat downs they do what they can. Regarding gopros and phones, to put quite simply they are stopped if they are spotted - much to the annoyance of everyone else as well!

If you really want to take stuff on the ride, get a jacket or trousers with zip pockets.

Sorry, last bit on bags...

Trouble is though Craig, its not always a question of wanting to but having to - after my wife had her handbag (with phone, keys, purse, kitchen sink etc) stolen from Oblivion's rack, the most I leave on the stations is a rucksack with clothes and water. If Towers invested in their locker system more and introduced an all-day pass to allow you to put your stuff into in any locker station across the park, I think they'd make a lot more money off them and they'd be less issues on rides.

That's a good idea, although charging guests to store their bags and loose articles in stations might not be popular and could make people more likely to try and sneak items on-ride.

No, the pre-show room is now basically part of the queue line with the show off.

Can't see that changing for a good long while, if ever. Cramming that many people into an enclosed space is one of the least Covid-secure things you can do. It won't be reinstated until there is 0% transmission among the general population and that seems a long way off.

How come Hex is able to do its videos? Does Hex have more space in it’s pre-show rooms?

But yes, I certainly agree that Wicker Man’s pre-show in particular was not exactly designed for a global health pandemic, as cool as it is/was.
Good bye WM pre show. In 20 years time we'll be reminiscing on here to the younger ones - "You know, when Wickerman opened, it had a pre show and fire effects! And that pit in Forbidden Valley used to have a B&M inverter in it with red coloured waterfalls!"
In fairness, the fire effects still work, and the pre-show was only turned off due to something completely outside of Alton’s control; when designing WM, I’m sure they certainly didn’t predict that a global health pandemic would happen 2 years after the ride opened.

Last time I rode WM in June 2021, the fire was in full working order, there was tons of smoke engulfing the entire ride area and all the tunnels, and both rooms (pre-lift and end tunnel) were in full working order, so it was literally only the pre-show off!

Well yes Hex's pre-show rooms are much bigger, but I think it may be to do with ventilation; Hex's rooms have fire doors at the side as well as the entry and exit doors at each end, which can be opened to enable air flow. WM's pre-show on the other hand just has the two entry and exit doors, and no extra fire doors, so can't be ventilated. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the reason why WM's pre-show is still off and the doors are always left open.

Out of interest, which attraction are you referring to when you say MS?

I'm imagining it now. When someone just like me strolls in and start asking questions and annoying all the 'olds' who remember the old attractions. Just like I do now.

So I'm going on the 14th and 15th of September which is a Tuesday and Wednesday with a few friends is that meant to be quite dead at the park, I saw last September was still quite busy even on midweeks.

Hi everyone. Just wondering if towards the end of the day you are able to leave the park near Galactica to get to the car parks, or is it main entrance only?
