Going to assume the hotel exit and that the standard car park would be sensible as it's closer, albeit the longer walk in the morning.

The only access to/from rollercoaster restaurant after park close is the Galactica gates.
There should be barriers preventing you from going further than the old Ripsaw area.

I have to disagree with this, probably due to park staff not putting up the barriers. We went for dinner at the rollercoaster restaurant on 29th June and we were free to explore! We went into the gardens at around 8pm and made it as far as roller disco. We could’ve walked around the whole park but we decided to go back to Forbidden Valley via some of the hidden gems in the gardens including the bear cave. It was fantastic exploring the park at night, especially forbidden valley and the bottom half of the Dark Forest being the only people there.

Unfortunately it wasn’t until we got back to the said gates on forbidden valley that we realised we weren’t supposed to be in the park after hours. Staff had locked the gates meaning we had to climb over them to get back into the small bit of the park by Galactica that you can walk around in the evening. It was great fun though!
 
Cheers guys. I guess as long as the restaurant is still open there's a means of getting back out should you decide to go exploring.

Would be very cool to have a look around with no-one else there and take some pics.

Thats why I said there should be barriers near the old Ripsaw area, you aren't the first person to post that the barriers weren't in place.

As above you could come back to find the barriers locked in Forbidden Valley and needing to climb out, I wouldn't risk being in the park more than an hour after closing unless you are actually in the restaurant or the plaza in front of it.
 
Anyone know if you can upgrade your 1 day pass into a 2 whilst you’re at the park, and if so, how much would it be?

2-day passes online are £10 more than one day passes, but I'm not sure if you can upgrade after purchasing. You'd be best off contacting the park before your visit to avoid disappointment. :)
 
What's the perfect outfit to wear? Obviously comfy shoes as there is a lot of walking but I want to do my best to try and not bring a bag as it's less hassle. Can I wear jeans and keep my phone and wallet in my jeans pocket (as well as my keys) or are they likely to fall out on inversion rides?

If your jeans have zipped pockets then they'd be ok, although I wouldn't recommend it as they could get damaged. You'd be better off putting your loose items in a off-ride locker. :)

My experience with jeans is they were basically fine if the pockets are not too loose, except for Galactica when my phone and other things would always try to slide out when you're on the section on your back.

Personally I always wear trackies with zipped pockets these days. No way would I leave anything valuable in the station lockers.
 
I know they’re a bit divisive, but I’ve recently started wearing cargo trousers to parks, and I have to say, I find them brilliantly practical! I now have a pair that has numerous zip pockets on it, as well as numerous button pockets, so I’m certainly not short of secure pocketing options!

Personally, I find it works really well, because I can use my phone, for instance, to do things like take pictures and do dispatch timings in the queues, and then just slide it back into my zip pocket before getting on the ride!

Two words: Bum bags! Seriously though, they're very practical - mine can hold my phone, glasses (if I don't have a strap with me) and the required theme park accessory - paracetamol!

I wear jeans and never had anything fall out of my pockets including (in the good old days) loose change. Don't forget, for almost all rides you're sat down, which means the pocket opening is closed off by the position you're in and the restraint touching your body. A bum bag is great, stick it under your tshirt or hoody and you can always move it around your body (front to side etc) depending on where the restraints sit so you don't trap or crush anything.

On something like Wickerman, Spinball or probably even Rita I wouldn't worry about stuff being in jeans pockets.
Anything that inverts though I would use a zipped pocket.
 
The second tunnel on Air was notorious for finding loose change. When it first opened we even had tech services staff just waiting for the ride to be isolated at the end of the day.
 
I take my car key fob (but leave it in my hotel room if staying), vape and phone. I don't need to take anything else, luckily my eyesight is bearable enough to leave glasses in the car. Google Pay on my phone to pay for anything I need. I wear shorts (sometimes even at Scarefest or in the spring) and my pockets seem to hold it all in of positioned properly. Galactica can sometimes be a problem because of the position you're in but sometimes I just don't ride it or get my partner to hold my stuff.

I always travel light to theme parks. The least cloths on and stuff in my pockets as possible.
