Quick Questions

The Towers Street theme by Graham Smart was used well into the 2000s so I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard it.

The new theme by IMAScore does sample ITHOTMK.

I love this theme so much. Although I'm not sure if I can remember hearing it in Towers Street. I'd love for them to bring it back although I must admit I do quite like the current Towers Street. It isn't a patch on this though.

I only visited for the first time in 2003... And didn't really start going regularly until ~2006.

It actually reminds me a lot of John Williams' music for the Hook movie. Wonder if he ever visited Towers? :D

Also ITHOTMK is in that classic loop (starts at 6:47), so I guess the park have been using it for a while.

I regularly visited from about 2001-2008 and the Towers Street theme was well used back then I think, especially in the Skyride cabins.

I think ITHOTMK was used on all the Tussauds advertising starting with the Haunted House, Mine Train and Nemesis so has been associated with the park for almost 30 years.

I believe ITHOTMK was introduced when Nick Varney was in marketing at Alton Towers in the early 90s.

Towards the end of Tussauds reign they stopped using the music in adverts etc for some reason. One of the first things Merlin did when they took over was to re-introduce it back, since I imagine they thought the connection between that music and the public was that it was ‘the Alton Towers music’.

I'd say your best bet is Eastern Express which does Jacket Potatoes, Curries (including vegetarian curries), Wraps and Sandwiches. It's next to Sharkbait Reef in Mutiny Bay.

I wasn't that impressed with the jacket potato or the curry from Eastern Express myself, but it was a busy fireworks day (also I am a meat eater).

Pizza Pasta has one vegetarian pasta, a vegetarian pizza and magerita pizza, garlic breadsticks and salad so enough options for vegetarians I think. Best if you want to eat a larger quanity rather than quality, although the pizza is fine.

Burger Kitchen I think has a bean burger. Not sure on Woodcutters or Rollercoaster.

I'd assume he took inspiration from Hook (1991) - I guess the Graham Smart theme was composed after '91 as it has portions of the Toyland Tours theme in it. Lots of people ripped off parts of Hook, including John Williams himself later with Harry Potter.

If a ride is closed for the time you have a Fastrack booked, will they be accepted on another ride?

Does anyone one know if the Gold Annual Pass (Alton Towers and/or Merlin) do the annual free hot drinks refill flask still?

Don’t think they do an annual one. You can buy one on the day or fill, which I think you pay a pound or something to refill each time.

Outside the fence, but easily accessed via the footpath at the side of cbeebies hotel.
Start to go down the drop, then bear left about a third of the way down to the valley.
Can also be reached with a longer walk from the Churnet river footpath, takes about half an hour from the village.
Lovely walk, very ancient woodland, well worth the walk.
...only took me 30 odd years to find them!

Excellent thank you.

Does anybody know if you can pay a bit extra to visit on blackout days with the Alton Towers Season pass as you could with the old Season Pass?

Apparently you were supposed to be able to get something like that in the welcome pack but personally I'm still waiting for mine over 2 months later and my complaint is just growing bigger and bigger and it's not going to end well for them. The longer they stall on getting back to me, the worse my tone is going to be with them (I hope someone from complaints/marketing/customer service is reading this).
