Quick Questions

I certainly don't mind! We haven't, we were actually going to visit as they had dedicated SEN sessions where adults were allowed to accompany on the slides but sadly they stopped doing them shortly after i discovered them.

Would probably work as a back up in case there was an issue though so thanks for the reminder!

You're welcome! Yeah it can get fairly busy at peak times, but it's pretty big and there is lots to do. The earlier sessions are probably quietest, although I know you have a long drive. Also, your son is tall enough for all but one slide (the trapdoor slide Thunderbolt is 1.4m, everything else is 1.2 or less).

He can’t go on slides unaccompanied so that tends to limit us at water parks. AT have always let us go on together which is another reason we like to go, though generally he’s happy in the river and various pools.

Don't think so, I believe all guests use the express car park.
Im sure the past few years you will usually be parking in the main car parks and walking, unless it’s quiet or maybe there early enough? in which case they use express.

But they usually park nearer the barriers so the walk isn’t so far.

They may also have buses running but these are usually from the hotels to the park, and I don’t think from the car parks.

Maybe a question, maybe am I missing something.

Daughter really got into towers this year so looking at passes. There doesn't seem to be much difference in the restricted days between the lowest pass at £79 and the gold at £199, is the way to go here to get one of each and use the gold for parking / merch & food discount / discount tickets for her mates and the normal one just for entry. .......or am I missing something?

As long as you're not particularly bothered by any of the restrictions dates, then this is absolutely the way to go.

I don't know if there is a thread for Feb half term, but why do they never open RMT for it anymore? Does it take a lot of work? It just seems like one of those rides they could get open for a week or two to suck in some more crowds

In recent history, the Pirate Takeover for February Half-Term concentrates visitors in one specific area around Mutiny Bay. This makes the event easier to run, more condensed and gives it some cohesion.

The Runaway Mine Train is a fairly decent stroll away from the other operating attractions, leading you past other closed spaces and rides. Staff costs will be of some consideration, but really it's because it's just not in the same area as the other open attractions.

If they wanted to get a ride open for a week or two, to suck in more crowds, The Wicker Man is right there in the operating area and would be a bigger draw.

As CBeebies Land is open too, Spinball Whizzer fills the coaster catchment.

I know it is technically the wrong topic, but, just for fun...

I have seen the Beatles "Hamburg rollercoaster" photo many times over many years, but never known...

What is the background coaster?

I'd never heard of it until now, so I looked it up.
My first guess would be one of the Mack side friction woodies, a model of which used to pop up in the first scene of Historama, similar to the one that used to be in Folkstone.
