On today’s quiz, Greeks and Gold, I managed 7/10, putting me in the 81st percentile!

My answers, and whether or not I knew them, were as follows:
  1. I knew that the chemical symbol of lead was Pb.
  2. I knew that Marley was a dog.
  3. I knew that the flag described was that of Pakistan.
  4. I knew that Greenland was an autonomous territory of Denmark.
  5. I knew that the human stomach contains hydrochloric acid.
  6. I had no idea for the song. I incorrectly guessed Immigrant Song.
  7. I didn’t know the Greek god, so I incorrectly guessed Hermes.
  8. I didn’t know this, but I took a punt on Thomas Hardy, and I was correct!
  9. I didn’t know this one, but based on the time given, I took a punt on Richard Nixon, and it was correct!
  10. I didn’t know this one, so I incorrectly guessed 1885.

Back up to 9/10 - I found todays Quiz pretty easy going on my knowledge base.

I got lucky with Q8 as Thomas Hardy lived in my area so we have a lot of access to his history/work - I'd have never known otherwise! My American history is poor so I got. Q9 wrong & had a completely lucky guess with Q10
 
I got 7/10. I guessed number 2 correctly despite not having a clue. I got 6, 7, and 8 wrong.

On today’s quiz, Palaces and Power, I got 5/10, putting me in the 42nd percentile.

My answers, and whether or not I knew them, were as follows:
  1. I had a feeling that John Travolta’s character in Grease was called Danny.
  2. I knew that there were 8 bits in a byte.
  3. I knew that Suzuki was Japanese.
  4. I had no idea for this one. I incorrectly guessed Benjamin Britten.
  5. I knew that India had independence in 1947… wouldn’t this one directly link with the question from the other day about the Independence Act?
  6. I didn’t know this one, so I incorrectly guessed Fermat.
  7. I didn’t know this one, so I incorrectly guessed India.
  8. I didn’t know this one, so I incorrectly guessed The Stooges.
  9. I didn’t know this one, so I incorrectly guessed Wesley.
  10. I did vaguely remember Argentina losing the final of the 2014 World Cup, so I went with Argentina and got it correct.
 
I missed yesterday’s as I was out, but today’s I got 6/10 which wasn’t bad considering the vast majority were guesses.

Again my knowledge of politics let me down.

My answers, and whether or not I knew them, were as follows:
  1. I knew that WWF featured a panda predominantly on its logo.
  2. I didn’t know this one, but I took a stab at Saudi Arabia and it turned out to be correct!
  3. I knew that Charles I was beheaded in 1649.
  4. I had no idea on this one. I incorrectly guessed Dire Straits.
  5. I didn’t know this one, but I guessed Australia and it turned out to be correct!
  6. I didn’t know this one, so I incorrectly guessed Tom Cruise.
  7. I knew that the chemical symbol of tin was Sn.
  8. I knew that the chemical formula H2O2 was that of hydrogen peroxide.
  9. I knew that Elvis died in 1977.
  10. I had no idea for this one, so I incorrectly guessed Matt Damon.
 
I got 6/10 today, which I thought was a bit disappointing, since I knew quite a few of the answers.
I got questions 1, 6, 7 and 9 wrong.
