Ironically I believe it was meant to actually get a themed station building a couple of years ago, but the company contracted to do it went bust :tearsofjoy:

I mean, in its current form it’s probably wins the award for best brownfield themed coaster. The views of the steel and chemical works are just sublime.

I still love how when I visited in 2014, Walygator's version of enclosing the ride area of Monster amounted to nothing more than a hedge that may not have even been a foot high. :p

Yeah it has no theming, but still the only coaster ever to make me grey-out!

I have done so many but my top 5 would be:

    1. Montu
    2. Alpengheist
    3. Nemesis
    4. Black Mamba
    5. Oz Iris.

Raptor just misses out but if had any reasonable amount of themeing it would easily make the top 5. Dualing Dragons / Dragon challenge also just misses out.

Great Bear at Hershey was decent too but not enough to make the top 5. Done several batman clones and they have all been good but again because there's so many it does take away the wow factor

I think Batman is better the fewer clones you do, when I rode Madrid’s I was really impressed, magic mountain less so.

    OzIris
    Silver Bullet (underrated)
    Montu (overrated)
    Dragon Challenge
    Inferno
    Batman (6FMM)

The top two are interchangeable for me on any given day.

Silver bullet is relentless and sits comfortably underneath them.

Montu, Dragon and Inferno also pretty interchangeable.

Batman was a rattly old turd by B&M standards.

What's the other SLC with the newer style trains and restraints? Energylandia have one and I'm sure there is another. Always said that it's not the track that make SLC's so bad. It's those god awful restraints near you ears.

We need to start a campaign to get PB to get new trains for Infusion or at least get the existing trains modified with those new restraints. It would immediately make it my 2nd fav coaster on park I reckon if it had them.

The SLC at Kentucky Kingdom has vest restraints and that was actually pretty good.

Great Nor’Easter at Morey’s Piers also has vest restraints, and I think the one at Six Flags New England may have been fitted too.

apparently Condor at Walibi Holland is getting them. But let's try and stay on topic for this thread please. B&M inverts, there are some really good ones out there but Nemesis will always be the best for me because it's so unique ( i say that and i haven't been to America lol)!

I have ridden a lot of the good ones in America and Nemmy still holds up. Most of the American enthusiasts who have ridden it absolutely love it so that shows you how good it is.

I think some UK enthusiasts don't rate it that highly anymore as they have ridden it so many times.

Still in my top 5 inverts for sure. The themeing and setting is absolutely outrageous. The recent paint job on the track and the Alien / Creature has been great too. It's brought it back to looking like it's former self.

Montu is still king though. It ticks all the boxes. Height, speed, length, inversions, intensity, themeing..... Its the full package.

This is well up there with the best, was in my top 10 for years.

It's tricky to list due to the clones. However, of the 23 I have done:

    1. Raptor, Cedar Point (Monster at Walygator would be lower slightly as rides less well)
    2. Montu, Busch Gardens Tampa
    3. Batman (SFMM/PW/SFSL/SFGAdv/SFGAm/SFoG) ; average position: some ride better than others
    4. Nemesis, Alton Towers
    5. Flight Deck, California's Great America
    6. Afterburn, Carowinds
    7. Dragon Challenge (can't remember which side I preferred; one *was* better so this is average position)
    8. Alpengeist, Busch Gardens Williamsburg
    9. Katun, Mirabilandia
    10. Pyrenees, Parque Espana
    11. Black Mamba, Phantasialand
    12. Oz'Iris, Parc Astérix
    13.Nemesis Inferno, Thorpe Park
    14. Talon, Dorney Park
    15. Silver Bullet, Knott's Berry Farn
    16. Great Bear, Hersheypark
    17. Banshee, Kings Island

Ask me again in an hour and it'd probably be slightly different.

To put this into context, I've done nearly 700 coasters and all the above would be in the top half.

B&M Inverted coasters are nearly always solidly good to outstanding rides.

    My best ride type ever!

As this is a topic about B&M inverted roller coasters, would anyone mind if I ask; what is it about Nemesis Inferno that seems to make most people rank it so much lower than the other inverted coasters, including Nemesis and even the Batmans, which look very similar?

I can definitely understand a high ranking of Nemesis; there are some very intense g-forces in parts of the layout, and to be honest, the helix is probably more forceful than any part of Nemesis Inferno (I admit, it is probably just about what I’d consider my upper limit of g-force on the front; I’m worried I might find it a bit too intense if I reride towards the back). However, I personally find that Nemesis Inferno is more consistent throughout the layout, and I also feel that it has much stronger pacing; there are spots for me where Nemesis does definitely peter out somewhat. For me, I think it maintains a really nice level of g-force throughout; forceful enough to feel thrilling, but not too forceful so as to induce nausea or blackouts. I also find it quite a bit smoother than Nemesis; Inferno was pretty much glass smooth last time I rode, while Nemesis has a bit of a rattle to it, and 1 or 2 of the transitions have induced head banging and left me with slightly sore ears on my recent rides. I wouldn’t call Nemesis rough by any means, but it’s not exactly glass smooth, in my opinion; to be honest, it is probably one of the rougher B&Ms I’ve ridden.

Look at the post brake run section of something like Dragon Khan or Montu. That's essentially Infernos whole layout so I can see why people don't get excited about it.

Fair enough, I suppose! But Nemesis isn’t an awful lot longer than Inferno, if any longer than Inferno, and that gets rated very highly. Even the Batman clones, which have a very similar layout to Inferno, get rated far more highly.

I suppose everyone has their own different opinions, however!

Inferno is pretty tame compared to the Batman clones.

you say Inferno is “consistent throughout the layout“ and that’s one of the things which makes it less interesting. You need fast and slow, high forces and low as well as plenty of surprises. Nemesis had all of these, with that final inversion really delivering on a surprise. Inferno is much more bland, it is a bit harder to pick out unique elements.
