I would imagine with Towers they are worried about the connectivity of data in the park as once you get more than 12,000 people on park the wifi and mobile data stop working.

From a staff pov no issues with data to my knowledge (scanners are offline first), they could in theory use the kiosk option of lo queue (there's code in the web version indicating it's almost identical but just spits out a paper qr) which is getting back to how lo-q worked before they brought out accesso.
 
Twitter is very interesting tonight on this subject once again. Looks like several people claiming that large groups of 8 were regularly seen going on rides with 1 pass.

They really need to do something about this next year. Maybe it's time to limit the pass to 2 people per ride/pass?

Or just back up staff so they can safely say no
 
Have we ever seen people kick off trying to flaunt it? My gut instinct would be people know they are in the wrong so might chance it, but a no is a no. It's not as if it isn't written on the card what the rules are and these are checked, confirmed and marked on collection.

The only issue with limiting it to two people (holder and carer) is an argument can be made under the equalities act that a family is being discriminated against (having to split and not share their day as a whole). I am surprised there hasn't been more action here with the 4 limit (or maybe they accommodate and it's discretionary) or BPBs upcharge.

Judging by how some people act when visiting theme parks I bet there are some who kick up a fuss when told no. Got it enough with height checks with "BuT tHeY wErE tAlL eNoUgH lAsT yEaR!" and what not.

But a 16 year old can't really stand their ground when being shouted at and as a result of trying to deal with guests delaying the rest of the ride. And these guests know that. I got accused of being a robot because I refused some people on last ride of the day after they jumped the fence on Truckers (the irony of course being I would've let them on the empty car if they hadn't been arseholes).

From a guest point of view, though, big issue - guests absolutely do need data for the solution to work, and it's one of the larger complaints about the system at Legoland and Chessie, even though data at those two parks is generally OK.

Oh I get that, I'm saying they have options which work when it's not needing additional capacity (online) and options for when online might not work for guests (kiosks)

Yes, I've seen people claim to be unaware the card wasa meant to be signed...
 
Any idea how strict Towers are with needing to have a carer when using a RED ride access pass? In theory I am eligible but never bothered (I just don't bother going on anything if it's got anything more than a 5 minute queue) but I pretty much always go on my own, so if I needed a carer to ride with me then the pass would be rendered pointless. Also, what's the difference between eligibility for the yellow or red passes? Cheers :)

Red passes do need at least one carer. Anyone with a cognitive disability automatically gets the red.

You should just be able to swap it to yellow, I have a condition that gives me very restless legs (especially when I'm not moving around much) and they gave me a red pass and they swapped it to yellow when I said.

Me personally I only use it when I need to for example wickermans queue moves fast enough for me not really need to use it because I keep my legs moving or for example galatica on 2 stations I can just about manage but 1 station then not a chance, same with oblivion.

That sounds good. So you would get to the park on the day taking your Access Card and explain that you'd like to swap your red RAP to yellow and the reason for doing so? Sorry if these sound like daft questions, but I've never had a RAP before.

I need to collect my new one when I next go to Towers, I automatically get the red because I have a cognitive condition but I might see if they'll change it to yellow as I don't need support on the rides.

Is the test that people don't need support during normal operation or don't need support whatever happens (in case of evac, for example) ?

I assume its for evac reasons, in case someone needs a carer to support them. I would not need physical assistance during an evac and am perfectly capable of following instructions. Heck, I think I'd actually be very excited as I've always wanted to get an evac. I do understand that some people may be anxious or scared though.
