Yeah I usually do RMT, Rapids and curse on the way to Forbidden Valley first thing. May do Wicker on the way though, that's a good idea.It may be best to go to Wickerman first, and then go up through Katanga Canyon getting on RMT and The Curse of Alton Manor and walk up to Forbidden Valley? As that's the only combination I can think of rides that are close together that all start at 10am, according to the list.
On a considerable number of days that is impossible anyway, with one of the two rides not opening on time all too frequently. Thanks for this. I am going tomorrow and that really throws a spanner in the works for ticking off a whole area first thing as normally you would do Th13teen and Rita first. That's really going to make it challenging now.

I’m guessing this might be tech services related and based on which rides they most struggle to get open in the morning as opposed to budget related.
It seems like a very illogical way to do staggered openings otherwise. Surely it would have made sense to at very least open things that are next to each other at the same time if this was purely a budgetary decision?
It would be better if they opened the stuff closest to the entrance first and then opened the stuff further away latest if they are dead set on staggered openings, in my view. It still wouldn’t be ideal, but it would at least have some logic to it based on most starting near the entrance and gradually working their way to the back ends of the park.
The openings they’ve chosen seem to have little discernible logic to them unless it’s entirely to do with what tech services struggles most with getting open in the morning. Why is Thirteen open at 10am when nothing else behind The Towers opens until 11am? Why is Spinball Whizzer, the closest ride to the entrance, not open until 11am? Why do Nemesis, Galactica and Nemesis Sub-Terra have a whole hour between their respective opening times? If this is for any reason other than tech services based stuff, it makes very little sense to me.

This really should’ve been in their “all you need to know about scarefest” video they released the other day. They would’ve known about these staggered openings, it’s just going to create anger for people who don’t know in advance

They assume (wrongly) that everyone has social media and no one has anything better to do with their lives than watch every Alton Towers video they post online. This really should’ve been in their “all you need to know about scarefest” video they released the other day. It snaps of knee jerk reaction, probably due to falling gates (it’s been dead all season).
Advertising their event and stating rides will be opening later isn’t a good look for them. It may put people off going which is what they don’t want.
The queues outside the queue lines while rides are closed in the morning are unpleasant enough already without having even more people stacking up the place waiting for the later opening times.
I assume someone has counted the beans in forensic detail about this at Towers HQ however from the outside it just seems nonsensical.

No excuses next season. They need to have ride tech's and ride availability sorted and please think about opening at around 11.30 on Scarefest days and closing every night at 9pm during that period. This season is fizzling out into a bit of a farce and they are sort of getting a bit of a free hit because of the new management set-up, but next year will it not be the third season of Bianca being there? You can't keep having repeats of this tosh. This is Alton Towers, not Bodgy Dave's travelling funfair.
Bodgy Dave could get several retrosquad style airbrushed horrors onsite, installed and ready to go before AT tech services even get out of their cars.No excuses next season. Like or loathe, getting rid of them without a replacement was a shocking mistake.

Not regretting my decision to swap Scarefest for Fright Nights this year ... at least Thorpe can get most of their coasters ready for park opening. There doesn't seem any point getting to the park for ride opening anymore.

Don't buy into this "it's not budget related" They can employ the tech services to start an hour earlier each day and get everything open at 10. There really is no excuse.
What an awful end to a diabolical season at Alton Towers. No chance Skyride opens next season
Not sure why they bother running Scarefect in the week? Be better to advertise it as a night ride event, open everything and just run Scarefest at the weekends/Friday and maybe monday

This is ridiculous! How far can these cuts keep going? There’s hardly anything open for 10!

Interesting that they've grouped all the Walliams rides into one item but listed all the Cbeebies rides separately.
If you were being cynical you might suspect that was done deliberately to bulk up the 10am list while downplaying the number of rides which will be delayed to 11am

Unfortunately a lot of us have already booked!![]()
I fear this is true! I have maintained that I am voting with my wallet after my experience on the second Alton after dark date.
I beg everyone to do the same. It’s just not good enough and they need a severe wake up call or the rot will continue.
