Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25

Nice to see that extended winter maintenance paying dividends on the Rapids, it hasn't opened today. Assuming the issue with Battle Galleons is still something to do with the gas alarm.
Rapids is back open just a fault likely it happens.

Ride Availability has been alright rides have gone down but mostly to put on or take trains off

Overall had another great day at Towers

@Matt N i was just thinking of our conversation and friendly disagreement the other day about Merlin parks typically having very long queues so i thought i'd glance at a random Saturday morning:

Was actually surprised at how short Chessington's are compared to our usual visits. One major attraction closed at each park.

Meanwhile at Paultons the longest queue outside of Peppa Pig is 10 minutes (the longest in Peppa is 25 minutes). No attractions closed.

Mind you a lot of the rides are older than Paultons rides. Majority of Paultons rides are less than 10 years old

Looks like Rita has been down for a couple days now for the whole day, wonder if it’s got anything to do with the ongoing issues with Stealth?, which has also not been open in a week.

Stealth was only open for a couple days before that and was closed for 2 weeks previous.

Might go on ride availability page before long if it doesn't reopen. Battle Galleons to.

So by my calculations, that's Rita, TH13TEEN, Spinball Whizzer, Oblivion & Battle Galleons all been closed for at least a day at some point in the first 2 months of the season. I know rides have issues before someone points it out but that is simply not normal for a seasonal park which is closed for the best part of 4 months. Nemesis Sub-Terra also only just made the last 90 minutes of my Alton After Dark visit or that would've been on the list too.

So some of that could be down to Weather, Guests causing rides to go down, Electrical Faults, Power Cuts. There are multiple factors some of which are outer of control. By the way Nemesis Sub-Terra has been one of the most reliable rides this year consistently pull 97.7% Uptime.

Not that abnormal in the early weeks of a season. Plus we all forget the brexit making parts take longer to arrive problem.

I am in no real mood to praise the resort at the moment primarily because the F&B is still shocking but I would say operations are 90% back to standard. I think folk have rose tinted glasses when they think back to years ago but I remember Nemesis being down for days when it’s gear box went or other such longer term downtimes.

Plus years ago it wasn’t watched like a hawk online by geeks.

You don't go to the park for F&B you go for rides, ride availability is more important than F&B at the moment in my opinion.

And not all F&B is terrible there are a few good places.

Like they need to get Rita and Skyride fixed soon.

No that’s what you do. Don’t assume your drive to visit a theme park is the same as everyone else’s.

When a family go to a theme park there are often people in the group who don’t give two figs about the rides (when I was a kid my mum never went on anything other than the teacups).

The whole package is important, that’s just a fact. And although some food is palatable it’s all stupidly expensive.

Anyway this is off topic but I felt it important to respond.

I most certainly go for the food, alongside the rides.
