Ride/Park Accidents

I'm surprised the El Toro derailment didn't get posted in here (I have read back and could of missed it). Here's an interesting video about what happened

Derailment on Runaway Timber Train at Landmark Adventure Park earlier today, two children injured.

A ferris wheel has been blown over at a Spanish fair:

Thankfully the incident happened 30 minutes before the fair opened, so nobody was on the ride at the time. Two people with minor injuries on the ground.

Report in the S*n that I won't link to that the incident is on a waltzer type ride and that only 2 of the injured were riders suggesting riders or ride vehicles have hit spectators. I dont really trust them on either of those points though.

The waltzer link seems to be base don one of the early articles that said the fair featured a waltzer and nothing else. The scumbag Sun and now Mail appear to have implied it is a waltzer based on that alone.

I've seen more people refer to a twist/sizzler than a waltzer, but I guess we will have to wait to find out.

Istanbul - teenager choles to death on her own vomit while riding a pendulum ride. She's seen wearing a face mask immediately before the ride started, I wonder if that contributed?

That's actually one of the reasons I was unsure about face masks on rides when the Idea was first mentioned last year.

Realistically the number of people vomiting mid-ride is very low and many of them would try to hold it in their mouth anyway even without a mask, as they don't want to get sick down their clothes.

This is an unfortunate accident and yes the mask may not have helped, but its not impossible that it would have happened without it.

Oh, absolutely. It could have contributed, but no way it caused it.
