Ride/Park Accidents

India - man killed off ride being electrocuted by touching a metal railing which had become live.

And a video of the waltzer incident happening. Ride looks shady as hell.

India - Woman dies falling from Topspin type ride, restraint fails and ejects her. Vid of ride in action, not incident, it looks to be some knock off, unsurprisingly. It does actually look quite nimble and fun, apart from the death risk.

Aaaaaannd....
India - man injured on the same day, falling from a topspin type ride. This time seemingly through the gap in the restraints.

The message here is do not go to India to ride knock off topspins.

Updated article, 2 hospitalised, 9 others treated at scene, and it is confirmed as Danters City Flyer.

Reports that ride has descended while in operation ar speed, we've seen before that the gondolas collide with platform structures when that's happened and that is consistent with the tangled dondallas pictued draped over the platform lighting rig.

Was there ever an update to the cause of this Star Flyer accident? I see Danters are back open in the same location with their coaster and wheel, so the council must have no issues with the operators.

Of any substance, no. The last updates I've seen were shortly after the incidnet confirming it was a criminal investigation and two arrests had been made. I can't see anywhere that confirms they are from the owning/operating family.

Also of note are previous hse notices regarding the safe operation of starflyers including specifically having something in place to stop low height overspeed that would cause rides to collide with furniture.

I imagine at the end of this investigation we'll see either a court result and/or a hse press release and/or technical bulletin. They often take many months though.
