It's only Molly Crowe and ToTT that you can do alone. Can you do sub species alone. I thought you ca only do molly and TotT
Visited Towers earlier this week and its fantastic to see they've stepped up their game. After last year i was doubting whether or not id be going this year but i'm beyond glad i decided to.
Sub Species really was something else, after being dragged away and pushed up against a wall, excessive face stroking and someone grabbing my neck i realised that the touching really added something that i think the scare mazes in the past few years have been missing. I came out shaking and that isn't something that i've experienced after a scare maze before!
Molly was very hard for me to take seriously. The actors touches felt forced and i spent more time laughing at the actors than i did being scared, i also think i may be the only person who didn't think the finale was all that special! i really thought it was predictable and this was my least favorite maze.
As for ToTT im glad they changed the route this year. It really refreshed it and the new route meant new scares, the actors were brilliant and to have so many of them made me appreciate the maze even more. For me i dont think Scarefest would be the same without it and teh day they do scrap it will be a sad one.

Oh a few more things I've just remembered!
* LOVE the new batching announcements for the mazes - really saves the poor hosts from losing their voices, and helps guests hear the H&S information. Smashing idea!
* Disliked the new Ladyships Gardens music with Darth Vader... Didn't build as much atmosphere as the tinkling of previous years.
* Towers Street music didn't really catch on with me... For some reason I'm sat at work humming LAST years tune of Scarefest vs. ITHOMK!
In fact... Thinking about it... None of the music seemed to stick? I'm back there this Saturday (WOOHOO) so I'll see what happens then! Maybe it just wasn't loud enough, or I was nattering too much

I've noticed this. I remember it was good, and that Molly Crowe sounded a little like 13, but I can't remember the actual musicIn fact... Thinking about it... None of the music seemed to stick? New thing on YouTube relating to the Haunting of Molly Crowe and Terror of the Towers:

I personally thought that the Terror of the Towers was really good this year, certainly they up the gain this year.
Even thought the two new mazes were different, I personally didn't like these as much. The molly Crowe last room was brilliant.
The new scare zone were not as good as the previous year zombie zone, but they were more wheelchair friendly for my wife.

anybody know what the Qs are like of late? Thinking of going again this weekend but don't want to be waiting ages on a timed slot. It's ridiculous. Hope they've sorted it out
Was it Saturday you visited? They were having capacity issues with the mazes on Saturday but these have now been fixed, from Sunday onwards maze queues have been short. Assuming ticket sales remain limited over the weekend queues shouldn't really build much above 20 minutes.

Thanks, it was last Sunday we went and booked the earliest slot we could at 1pm, we still waited a good while for TOTT despite there hardly being any queue, the throughput on that and Molly was dire still, Sub Species seemed fine. Was it Saturday you visited? The thing I'm a bit confused about with regards to Molly Crowe is that in the promotional material she is a teenage girl (a bit like the Thirteen girl) whereas in the story of the maze and the poem she is supposed to be a young toddler/baby. I get that they may not be able to find a toddler to play the part in the adverts, but surely the poem, story and visuals could work better together to avoid juxtaposition.

Had a wonderful day yesterday.
As someone who isn't bothered with the mazes, I have to say the atmosphere was great walking around when it was getting dark and Towers Street looked fab.
Queues were very minimal, never really seen the place so quiet. Biggest queue was about 15 mins but mostly no more than 5 mins.
Only thing that annoyed me was guests that decided the to create their own scare zones and jump out at people when it got dark. Not only did I not appreciate it but the kids around me certainly didn't either. Not funny.

The poem is the story of Molly Crowe as being told by a 4 year old
We originally recorded it with an elder voice and it just didn't work, really. Hope that's cleared it up!
So, in the poem it's a 4 year old, in the advert she's a teenager, and in the maze it's an adult (though obviously they can't use a child for this). How's that for juxtaposition then. The thing I'm a bit confused about with regards to Molly Crowe is that in the promotional material she is a teenage girl (a bit like the Thirteen girl) whereas in the story of the maze and the poem she is supposed to be a young toddler/baby. Does anyone know how many actors they have in Molly at one time, I can't imagine it would be many. The Victorian man walks with you all the way round.
