That will never return. It was one of the better ones as well.I still think that The Sanctuary should return, maybe giving it a new name and a spruce up in order to make it marketable again.

I'm more staggered this image was taken from the Towers. It implies they're actually still open.
I'll give it another week or two until full closure.

I think you may be right with that one. Although we may see the other container in its place closer to the time.Im pretty sure last year there was 1 more container in front of the smaller metal tunnels ?

I'm surprised Sub Species is returning again, I'd have thought it'd have run its course by now.

Same thing happened every year with Saw Alive and that's lasted 10 yearsI'm surprised Sub Species is returning again, I'd have thought it'd have run its course by now.

Sub species ran its course a few years ago, it was amazing at the time, but as time has come on other mazes have got better, and if anything sub species has got worse, with the actors not being as good, and the rooms getting cut off and the random routes also no longer being used.
Looking at it from above there is a container or two missing at the minute, so maybe they will be changing its layout or ending.

Fingers crossed with that one. Some details have been revealed about Scarefest 2019:
Sub Species, Project 42, and Altonville Mine Tours are all returning and cost £20 together.
New for this year is the ‘scarier’ Dungeon (less laughs, more scares apparently) and:
The Attic: Terror of the Towers:
Finally, a new version of the classic maze. Fingers crossed it’s a good refresh! Tickets for that cost £8 and does not come as part of the multi-maze ticket.
The Darkest Depths:
A family maze, located in Mutiny Bay where you’ll come face to face with creatures of the deep. Interesting concept. £5 per person
There’s also a CBeebies Land Monster Ball for the children as well as the usual Halloween offerings for kids.
Dates are: October 5th-6th, 12th-13th, and 18-3rd November.
Sounds like a pretty strong line up, hopefully they’re getting a better budget to work with this year.

Looking on the Towers website it seems the Dungeons will still have a 10+ age rating during Scarefest so I don’t think the scare rating will be upped significantly. The price is £8.50 - so £3.50 more than the usual online price or a £1 more than the on the day price. No mention of prebooking discounts during Scarefest.
The kids entertainment stage will be moving back to the lawns at the bottom of Towers St.
Still no free scarezone option, the Ancestors flash mob returns but no other roaming entertainment.

I agree it needs something to get it back on top form, but as far as I know the full routes were used last year including all dead ends etc. But the 'other' end route was cut towards the end of Scarefest due to not enough performers.and if anything sub species has got worse, with the actors not being as good, and the rooms getting cut off and the random routes also no longer being used.
This new line up sounds exciting, I hope Project 42 has a big rethink (then it could be great) and the others return with a bang.
Surprising that House of Monsters is gone. It was brilliant, just perhaps in the wrong place to attract enough numbers for how big it was. Hopefully the new family maze will be just as fun.

Maybe house of monsters isn't returning due to a potential cloud cuckoo land closure ahead of potential redevelopment...

Maybe, but would that not include the Dungeons? Especially if its true Dungeons is just a place filler until the real development could go ahead?Maybe house of monsters isn't returning due to a potential cloud cuckoo land closure ahead of potential redevelopment...

HoM is relatively close to the Dungeons area. Maybe that area around the dungeons will have actors roaming around - like the Boernen with Wicker Man - and if the Dungeons are to be a little more scary then perhaps they didn't want the younger kids in the same area?Maybe house of monsters isn't returning due to a potential cloud cuckoo land closure ahead of potential redevelopment...
A fairly mediocre line-up for me.
Great to see ToTT return but in a refurbished form as promised last year, but slightly disappointed about the return of Sub Species. I’d of expected SS to be retired this season and Mine Tours retired next year, given the current drive to bring in a new maze every year.
Interesting regarding the removal of House of Monsters and change of location. If I’m being honest this could be because of limited footfall up towards CCL, in a bid to generate extra revenue by moving the family maze closer to Wicker Man, or could be because CCL is set to be closed later in the year for a refurb.
The reincarnated ToTT is definitely one of the more interesting maze ideas over the last few years.
I still think an opportunity was missed to make Haunting of Molly Crowe into a full, free-flow style maze with no hoods. It had such a great theme.

I think unless more details are released I'll only be doing ToT.
The rest feel quite tired to me. (To be fair, I go every year, so realise I'm not the average customer).
However it's still a way off yet, might get some more details which entice me. Might be tempted by a spookier dungeon, but I'd probably wait for a review.

I have absolutely no desire to do Project 42 again this year. Sub Species needed to be retired on a high but I feel like this will be the year it is truly milked to death. Mine Tours probably still has a year or so in it until that also grows stale.
I'm not holding my breathe for TotT. It's great to see it back in the line up and they're giving it a new theme, but I'm not entirely sure I can trust it to be delivered to its full potential.
The Mutiny Bay maze could be interesting. Also good to see they're expanding options for the kids with the Monster Ball; obviously not the cup of tea for the majority of us but hopefully it is done well.
