That's why I think the lineup is unchanged as far as mazes go this year. They worked successfully last year with greater restrictions in place so to me, makes sense to stick with them this year in case restrictions come back into force. Then, all being well next year they can change them when everything is next to normal again.SSTEG was the only proper maze, so many routes, actors allowed to get physical etc. All stuff very COVID unfriendly. Towers must have designed these with one eye on restrictions returning.

An absolutely fair point. But bear in mind we got two new outdoor attractions last year that were covid friendly, created under covid pressure. I think they should have replaced Altonville Mine Tours with a new outdoor maze.That's why I think the lineup is unchanged as far as mazes go this year. It’s a very valid point indeed, however seeing other events and rival parks like Thorpe going all out this year makes me wonder why Alton couldn’t have planned to do the same?That's why I think the lineup is unchanged as far as mazes go this year. At least one new maze/scare zone would have been ideal. Thorpe have got 3 scare zones and 3 mazes including a new one.

The difference is though Thorpe hasn't had a Mardi Gras festival or the level of entertainment Towers has put on this year or doing a big Christmas event. When it came down to budgets, maybe it was decided to spread the budgets across the whole season rather than concentrating on one small part of it. Who knows, but I'd rather have Towers as it has been (and will be) this year with all the events rather than next to nothing and new mazes at Halloween that may or may not be any good.It’s a very valid point indeed, however seeing other events and rival parks like Thorpe going all out this year makes me wonder why Alton couldn’t have planned to do the same?

Darkest Depths' audio has been testing and is completely different from it's original soundtrack!
Could the new audio compensate the upgrade to a thrill maze?
Also, this recent article advertising scare actor roles for Scarefest mentions zombies, but none of the mazes contain zombies right? Interesting...

Interesting. There’s also a new sign outside sub terra as well…. But surely too late for any other additions to the lineup

The zombies could be for TTT (Trick 'o Treat Town) or maybe Darkest Depths will have some Pirates of The Caribbean style zombie pirates?Also, this recent article advertising scare actor roles for Scarefest mentions zombies, but none of the mazes contain zombies right? Interesting...

Been waiting for this!
An interesting thing that Shawn mentined is that Trick o Treat Town is taking place in the section of the old Charlie bulding which contained the elevator simulators, so maybe they could be used as part of the attraction?
I'm not convinced as they haven't been used for years and would probably need a lot of work doing, but we'll wait and see.

They may use them for the space (like you walked around the ride in Sub Terra for Project 42) but I doubt they'll be working.
Clever place to put it too - next to the Dungeon, meaning more people will see them and potentially go in. May even see more Dungeon characters roaming the area

Forwarding on the photos posted on TS social media, not sure what to make of this at all other than we can expect some pretty interesting changes to the layout for Toxic Junkyard.

Here's a video on the updates;
On a side note, do we think the actors will be allowed to touch guests again this year?

I would be very very surprised if they do.

Hmmm, not sure I like this about Darkest Depths. My daughter (will be 13 this year) has loved it every year to date.....even if it got more extreme she would like it. As she is pretty tall she can get away with looking older but just a bit annoyed that they have taken the only 'starter' maze away.

I'm under the impression that the new one - Trick or Treat Town - will be the replacement "starter" mazeHmmm, not sure I like this about Darkest Depths.
