Six Flags Quiddiya

Moving on from geopolitics, aside from this place which seems to be on the extreme edge of Riyadh, is there anything else to do out there? Apart from being the capital city, all I can seem to source is that there is archaeology and museums everywhere, and the football team that Ronaldo plays for.

If I was hypothetically planning a trip there with my children I'd want to add a bit of variety into the mix but museums would be a seriously hard sell.

The airport operates 24 hours so my friend and I are debating at some point just flying in, going to the park then leaving again on the 330am to London!

Park opening hours are a bit of a ****** for that though aren't they. 4pm-1am or something like that to avoid the daytime heat

I do appreciate the Extreme Day Trips aspect of it even if you're pushing it to the extreme

Works out pretty well, park till 1am then taxi to the airport, don't even need to get a hotel or bring anything!

I’ve done a couple of extreme day trips myself but surely it would be much nicer making a two day trip of it at the very least? Give yourself some time to rest and relax, enjoy some of the local cuisine, etc. Would you really enjoy your time at the park if you’ve been on the go non-stop for so many hours and with the time pressure you’d be putting yourself under?

Obviously you know what your time commitments are but an extreme day trip from the UK to a Saudi Arabian theme park just seems a bit crazy if I’m honest.

I've done a lot crazier tbh. And it's not somewhere i'm particularly interested in visiting, i'd literally be going for the mad rollercoasters.

I think in reality you're somewhat right in that we'd need to arrive the day before otherwise there's no margin for error.

I bet this is what a fair few of the YouTubers will do when it opens. Will be interesting to see if it pays off. I was surprised when I looked how cheap a return flight is.

Finding a reasonably priced hotel will possibly be one of the difficulties. I'd be wary of staying anywhere but a "known" brand and they don't seem to come cheap

In theory sounds great but that's a massively tiring day and you'd just not enjoy it the same. Plus hotels won't be overly expensive and you're definitely going to want an extra day for re-rides and just in case there are ride delays.

Plenty of creds around Riyadh. SFQ circled, still grey as under construction.

There's some quality:

Zhengzhou Sanqgroup clone of a powered Zamperla Twin Helix
SBF Spinner x 4
SBF Race Coaster
EOS Spinner
A ??? built by ??? (looks like an SBF attempt at an MM29 or similar)
I.E.Park nonsense x 2
Zamperla Powered Single Helix
SBF Visa nonsense
A Zamperla Gravity 80 STD rip off built by.....someone at some stage.
Zamperla Small Spinner
A Wacky Worm built by ???
A Premier Sky Rocket II
Vekoma Junior 247m

I mean the first one sounds the best quality and most interesting I'm sure you'll agree.

There are 'touristy' things to do in Riyadh outside of Qiddiya. Kingdom Tower is very impressive and has the sky bridge. Diriyah Gate is an interesting visit, and then there's obviously the very impressive Boulevard World. Depends really on how desperate you are to bolster your cred count with utter **** versus seeing the culture.

Sounds like an easy way to make a few days out of it. Day or so at Qiddiya, day or so doing touristy stuff and a day of hoovering up some of the either proper (Sky Rocket, Vekoma) creds or 'interesting' creds.
