Firstly I would like to say Adele song for this film is amazing never really been a big fan of James Bond but I really could be film to watch

I agree, I enjoyed Quantum of Solace despite the script apparently not being up to scratch due to the writers' strike. I can't wait to see what they can do this time without those issues and with the far longer timespan they've had to develop the plot. I also love Daniel Craig as Bond, I realise he's a Marmite actor although I think his intensity and acting style are perfect for the role.

And by the way, shouldn't this be in Box Office?

Quantum was crap.

Casino Royale is superb. I'm putting my neck on the line and saying it's the best one ever.

If Craig's as good in Skyfall as he was in the last two, I'll consider saying he's better than Connery. Craig's closest to the books and he's a powerful actor.

But Adele? Awful.

I'm truly looking forwards to this. I have not seen a single negative comment from anybody who has had the chance to see it yet, with many people claiming it's Craig's best so far [hardly an achievement] and that Bardem will go down in Bond villain history as one of the most iconic. According to several reviews, this would have been Bardem's finest film if Daniel Craig hadn't stolen the spotlight by putting on his best performance as Bond yet.

1. Exactly they tried too hard.

2. Exactly, they let it develop at a mature pace.

I'm looking forward to Skyfall considering technology has moved on in filmmaking in the space of 4 years and dem special effects better be epic with a name like Skyfall. But considering the theme I doubt we will be getting the most exciting opening. With Craig revealing little I'm sure this will fix where QoS went oh so wrong. I was bored about halfway through and I had little hope for Skyfall until recent weeks.

Die Another Day is the best opening to Bond ever, amirite?

If this film is stale, I think we need a reboot with a new, young bond from about 2015 that sticks to the old school action and less cheesy cliche story. Then I will be as happy a relaxed Bond villain!

Really looking forward to going to see this film, the trailers make it look really good. Especially the part where the train comes out of the underground.

I love how Daniel Craig plays the part and Casino Royale was an amazing film.

The song should of been Supremacy, it fits so perfectly and compared to Adele's song it is far better.

Try and tell me Adele's song is a better Bond song than this.

It's even got the Bond chord in it!

And the vocals at 2:10 to 2:18. Your move, Adele.

He's done two films, it's not exactly hard to beat his previous performance is it? Especially considering I personally felt his role of Bond in QoS was hashed not only by a terrible script, but I think that with the character only being motivated by revenge, there wasn't much of a character to explore. Therefore, that only leaves Craig's performance in Casino Royale to compare to.

I can't really find anything to mark against Craig for his performance in CR and he certainly taught a lot of people not to judge a book by its cover. However, six years have gone by since [has it really that long?!] he took the role, and I feel by now he will have captured all the emotions needed to be invested into Bond's character, something I feel the other actors [particularly Pierce] lacked on several occasions.

I feel it's almost expected of him to mark Skyfall as his best Bond performance yet. He has a true bonding with the character now and everything is painting this film out to be a Bond film that people will mention near the top of their lists should they be asked to recall as many names of Bond films as they can, fifty years or so into the future.

Sorry to borrow theMan's avatar - but as I said before: :)

Nah, GoldenEye was better. ;)

It's all about Tomorrow Never Dies tbh. ;)

Goldeneye was a great film though. It's the only Brosnan-era Bond that doesn't make me want to jump off a bridge.

But you have to love Die Another Day for the sheer OTT nature of absolutley everything in it! :p

Edit: Apart from Madonna.

Die Another Day felt like a parody. In a way it was deliberate self-parody to mark the 40th anniversary, but still, it was so cringey and ridiculous, even compared to the likes of Moonraker. :p

And that's exactly why I love it!

It has...

  • Impossible gadgets which are quite pointless and would cost too much to make in real life
  • An Aston Martin and a Jaguar trying to destroy each other on a frozen lake with missiles and what not
  • A car that can turn invisible and drive on its side
  • No ordinary villain, but a North Korean villain (oh dear :p ) with diamonds stuck in his face
  • A half naked woman who can dive over the side of a cliff into the sea
  • A crazy opening scene were the agents surf into an army base... in style! :p
  • A palace made of ice
  • The same palace melting and causing absolute chaos
  • Possibly the best way that any villain has ever been killed (vie giant ice chandelier falling on top of him :p )
  • Lots of guns and explosions and mayhem

:D

Die Another Day was an absolute turd. There were a few good elements (opening scene, Cuba, fencing, car chase) but overall it was just ridiculous, and not in a good way. Oddly though I like the Madonna theme tune but parts do grate and the lyrics are absymal (Sigmund Freud?!!).

As I said, GoldenEye was a cracking effort, definetely in the top 5 of the series, but probably top 3. The other two Brosnan efforts sit somewhere between but it's clear that their production value is not as great as Brosnan's debut. Tomorrow Never Dies is a solid entry in the series, but is predictable and actually somewhat forgettable. The World Is Not Enough is one of my favourite films, there are some amazing action scenes including that unforgettable opening sequence where MI6 is attacked culminating in the Thames boat chase. Brosnan's character also really develops during the relationship with Bond and Elektra; but overall the film suffers from the same dreary dialogue and excess of one-liners as the previous film. The real stinker of course which ultimately lets the film down is the main Bond girl......Dr. Christmas Jones (wtf!?).

I was never a fan of Casino Royale when I first saw it. I suppose as a kid growing up during the Brosnan era you come to expect the same formula and so ultimately I was disappointed. I suppose that's why I preferred Quantum as by Craig's second film I had some idea of what to expect. However, now I can appreciate that Casino Royale is exactly what the series needed and I now rate it as one of the best entries. I'm hoping that Skyfall will get back to the classic Bond formula but without falling into the old tired cliches that has brought down many of the previous films. Having Q make a return and what looks to be the best villain in a while certainly holds promise.

:)

The Brosnan Bond films were, in my opinion, a series of stereotypes of what people perceived Bond to be. The two newer ones, and hopefully Skyfall are actually taking the books more seriously and considering more the emotional side to Bond - it's far more realistic and believable, and IMO it makes for more satisfying films.

As a huge Bond fan I would have to say I can't wait to see Skyfall. I agree with many of the above statements. Die Another Day was the biggest abomination to even grace the world of Film let alone call itself a Bond film. It was utter tripe! I mean I like a bit of far-fetchedness in my Bond's like anyone else but it was ludicrous throughout. Subsequently Mr Brosnan left because of it.

Goldeneye holds such a nostalgic place in my heart for a number of reasons. It was the Bond film of my era and also the best first person shooter to grace the planet. Those 90s kids amongst you will know that Goldeneye N64 ruled the roost in many gamer's households.

I'm not just a Bond film fan, I'm also a theme fan and there are so many I adore. Skyfall is up there with the best of them, if not thee best (Not making it definite just yet because it's fresh in my head) It's back to it's roots as a Bond theme. She is perfect for it and I adore it.
