St. Adams Castle - RCT3

Hello again, sorry for the little delay, college will be starting up soon and updates will become less and less for this topic. Alas, I have a few little photos here for you and try and spot some tweaks I've been doing with the park! ;)

Summer 1997
After the park opened it's brand new hotel last year and the last few years of new rides and attractions, 1997 see's the park take a step back from it all after the big investments nearly caused the park to head into the red. Unlike the last few years which had a six year plan for new attractions, this time round, the park is keeping things under wraps this time round, especially as park owner Brian Morrison see's this year as a quiet one, though will start adding newer attractions for the years following.

Despite technically saying that there are no new attractions, the park has instead decided to put on a standard 3D show in Corral Town as the park's deal with Nickelodeon ran out. Rather ironic to say that the 3D 'Ren and Stimpy' is the first attraction at the park to close (though with it's notorious bad reviews, it's unlikely that fans of the park and the public alike are sad to see it go.)

This time round, it is a cheap 3D flying experience film. Though it may not be quite that good of a show, comparing it to it's predecessor, there is no doubt that this will be a welcome addition to the park. During the Summer season, here were some photos taken from July...

Shot0402.jpg

The 3D cinema. Notice the large Ren And Stimpy sign taken down and replaced by the 3D World sign. This is due to the expectation that most 3D shows here and only temporary and the building will be used for new shows every time.

Shot0403.jpg

Also in Corral Town, the park has started accepting sponsorships from food and drink, a new McDonald's now takes up it's place at the park.

Shot0408.jpg

Over in Tourtuga Bay, new trees has been added to help more of it's Pirate theme.

Shot0409.jpg

Thrill Seeker's favourite, Revelation, has a new entrance sign put up in Lochty Estate.

Shot0412.jpg

The ride's banked curve.

Shot0411.jpg

Enthusiasts from America made the trip over to ride this monster of a Roller Coaster, always earning endless praise from them.

Shot0416.jpg

In UK Coaster charts, Revelation has been voted as one of the countries greatest Roller Coasters (only coming behind Alton Towers' Nemesis.)

Shot0413.jpg

Over in the Myths and Legends area, here the rock face structure of the park's aquarium is seen. It has been a rather mysterious attraction as not many Park guests seem to notice it, though already plans are on the cards for the attraction to be given a transformation later on, many fans assume that it maybe a dark ride in future...

So there we go, a shorter update than normal, but things will pick again when we see the park next time! In the meantime, have a guess what the park's next ride could be. (I'll give you a clue, it's a Flat ride...)

Alright, it's another update! This time, we have more pictures here for you to enjoy, though despite what I said last time saying updates will get less and less as I'm at college, though this one is the exception you can say, haha! :D

but anyway, here is the park during the 1998 season, oh what joy...

Summer 1998
In terms of the '98 season for parks across the country, Alton Towers takes the pundits with the installation of their brand new roller coaster ride 'Oblivion'. Though SAC's very own TLNM is argued to be the world's first vertical roller coaster, Oblivion's main claim to fame is that it is the world's first Diving Coaster and in doing so, gains more publicity than what TLNM could do during it's opening, much to Morrison's annoyance. Nevertheless, St Adams Castle is certainly not one for resting on their laurels this year with them adding a brand new flat ride. The choice of their new ride this year is none other than a S&S Spaceshot ride.

The thought of choosing this type of ride came about after Blackpool Pleasure Beach opened Playstation: The Ride last year. Interested to see what this type of ride was like, Brian Morrison went down south personally to see for himself. Though some enthusiasts are unsure about this ride, Morrison was immediately won over by this type of ride, and as soon as he went back home, he began setting plans for one the next season.

The new ride, named 'LT-X' (standing for 'Launch Test Xtreme'), is installed in Thrill Sector and is the first new addition to the area since the area opened with the park in 1990. The addition of it also gives the chance to give the area a small theming upgrade. Many enthusiasts say that it is an area that is lacking that much in theming compared to the rest of the park. The ride opens to great publicity in Scotland and is soon a hit with park visitors and a much needed attraction for Thrill Sector. But all is not all fun and games at SAC...

Also in Scotland, arch rival park M&D's have opened their new Roller Coaster for the season named, either coincidence or trying to get under SAC's skin...Tornado. As with the ride being built by Pinfari, the ride is hated by many members of the public for it being dangerously rough and the Corkscrew (Pinfari's first attempt on one) is memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Though enthusiasts back SAC's Tornado, the general public are confused at which Tornado is the real one. This has caused guests at SAC to think that their Tornado is THAT Tornado that is rough. The confusion itself has made Brian Morrison seriously consider the future for the park veteran of either re-theming the area at a later date, SBNO, or worse...closure completely. Hopefully though these are for a later date and in the meantime, the park will have a relaxing period until then.

Behind the scenes right after LT-X's opening, Morrison is trying out for a place to put his park on the European map by installing more expansive rides to catch the attention. Though no word has gotten around on what it could be, in these days on the internet taking off, who knows what details might slip out on what '99's ride will be. Here are photos during the summer during '98...

Shot0426.jpg

A few cars are seen arriving to the park.

Shot0425.jpg

The cars and buses are seen entering the car park.

Shot0420.jpg

Though fans are the park are stunned to see that the park has now charges for the car park.

Shot0424.jpg

From the air, a large gap is seen nearby the hotel, rumour has it that this is for a extension to the hotel at a later date.

Shot0419.jpg

The way into the park, notice the drinks machine.

Shot0405.jpg

Finally, we see the park's new ride for 1998. The ride not only gives guests a great thrill, but also gives them some spectacular views of the surrounding Fife countryside.

Shot0406.jpg

A close up on the base of the tower, noticed that the path has been changed to tarmac as guests found it difficult to find the path with the last one blending into the ground.

Shot0407.jpg

Some small additions have been added to area, can you guess some of them?

Shot0404.jpg

Another view of LT-X from a distance.

A few guests are seen queuing up for Tornado.

Shot0428.jpg

And here is an interesting shot at nightfall with the pool still opened to guests for about 9pm.

artwork.png

Finally, this piece of artwork has been leaked out and has caught everyone's attention. It seems to confirm to everyone that 1999's ride will be a much awaited dark ride for the park, though wherever it might go is anyone's guess.

So that's that for the time being, I'll let you wonder what the new dark ride's theme will be about and where it might go, until then, see ya! :)

Arg, sorry for not commenting sooner mate. i've been too wrapped up in Blithering to look at other RCT threads.

You are doing some great work here. It seems that like me, you are going for the realism angle... just what I like to see :p I especially like your roads... and thats not even part of the park!

So some kind of mine based dark ride is up next, eh? Hmmm....

And thus, St Adams Castle present it's last ride, of the millennium...

Spring 1999
As the world get's ready to welcome the year 2000 and a new millennium, St Adams Castle does it part to celebrate with a ride that end the 90's season. The ride in question is a dark ride (the first one since 'Lochty Mansion' opened in 1992) built by MACK and is named 'Atlantis.' When it was found out by fans that the park was getting a new dark ride, the majority of fans welcomed the news with open arms as another dark ride was much needed for the park. Despite being a fairly large park with many rides and attractions, the park has been criticised for a lack of water and dark rides which makes the park not fit for the European market. Park owner Brian Morrison goes out to prove the critics wrong.

When talking about the attraction, it is quite a surprise to many enthusiasts that the ride would end up in the 'Myths and Legends' area and replacing the old Atlantis aquarium attraction, but Morrison had mentioned that the attraction was somewhat out of themed with the rest in the area, so it was closed after the '98 season. Some fans have joked by calling it 'The New Atlantis', but it's far than just a simply re-skin...

The attraction's storyline is set in a victorian setting when old explorers have discovered the lost city of Atlantis, and guests are to take a journey through various caves and old ruins in steampunk like steam trains (which are chassis from MACK's very own powered train rides.) But soon, things don't all go to plan. As the ride goes on, guests soon encounter strange sea creatures that now rule Atlantis and throughout the ride, they are out to track you down and attempt to keep below the sea...forever. In a great climax, guests encounter a giant sea serpent that attempts to stop you...will you escape?

The ride receives great acclaim from fans and the public alike, many stating of how amazing the effects for the ride are and how they trump LM's theming, much to the Park's embarrassment as they hold LM as their flagship dark ride and see Atlantis as the little version of LM. The ride also is the first ride in the UK to have an onboard soundtrack, which Mr. Riley, leader of the expedition, guides through on your journey. Nevertheless, it is a rather fitting ride to end the 90's on.

And here are some photos of this new ride...

Shot0445.jpg

The outside of the attraction, notice the rock work facade is now taller than what it was before, the ride has three levels on it due to the lack of space it has.

Shot0458.jpg

From one side...

Shot0459.jpg

...And the other. Noticed the plum of smoke from the roof, this photo was taken during a fire drill during February that year, which they used real smoke in an attempt to make the evacuation possible

Shot0457.jpg

In the station area now.

Shot0446.jpg

The train heads through a dark cave into the unknown.

Shot0447.jpg

After heading down a slope, guests soon arrive in Atlantis.

Shot0448.jpg

But they are not alone...

Shot0449.jpg

A lot of sections of the ride see's the train navigate through many alleyways, with anything hiding behind any corner.

Shot0450.jpg

The sea creatures begin following you...

Shot0451.jpg

You seen find lost treasure...and them.

Shot0452.jpg

The ride features quite a bit of jump-scare moments, though not too scary as this is a family ride.

Shot0453.jpg

Soon, guests encounter a green vortex of supernatural power, which a shocked Mr Riley, discovers that this power has to ability to stop the train from reaching the surface, never to return.

Shot0455.jpg

Suddenly, you encounter a large sea serpent that tries to stop you from leaving.

Shot0456.jpg

Thankfully, after a great serge of electric, you hold the monster off and head up to to surface, and back to the station area. The end of a great adventure.

Shot0460.jpg

Meanwhile on the other side of the park, rumours have kicked off again saying that something new is coming in 'Tortuga Bay', a flat ride many say, but some say the park's second water ride.

So with that, we wrap up the '90's for the park and see the park heads into the next decade. Who knows what new additions the park will see? One thing is for certain, the park is going on to achieve great things.

Have a guess what will be next. ;) So in the meantime, see you around!

Using a Mack powered coaster for a dark ride? Inspired! Nice use of lighting as well. ;) It's also good to see a nice "tin shed" round the back of the ride.

One question though... underwater fire?

Ah, it's not a powered coaster, the train you see is a CTR using dark ride track, the 'Mack' track you see was added on after (using Toboggan track) to try and make it look realistic. :p

And yes the underwater fire...it's magic fire! :D use your imagination. ;)

Hey again, it's another update and the park enters a new millennium! So without further ado, let's carry on...

Summer 2000
It is the time of a new millennium and a very special year for the park as it is St Adam's Castle's 10th anniversary. The park has come a long way from starting off as what many feared would be a white elephant to become Scotland's flagship theme park. Brian Morrison, the owner, still has a desire to see the park enter European competition with other parks in Europe. While spending a lot of money for constant new rides and attractions that has made many board members and staff doubt about his sanity, though with the park heading for the big time, it is clear that Morrison's gamble will pay off.

With this being the park's tenth year, great celebrations were expected by fans, though good news and bad news have taken place. The good news is that to celebrate, the park has opened a brand new rapids water ride from Intermin, a heavily themed attraction in 'Myths and Legends' called 'Bogalta' (in Scottish Gaelic means 'soaked!'.) The ride is once again another adventure ride when guests encounter a lost temple and head on a wet and wild trip! At a cost of £14 million, it is the park's most expensive ride to date and is the park's second water ride, and a much needed one as well. Despite great theming, fans are somewhat divided by this ride. Some are saying that it is quite an overkill attraction for the park and the irony that the Scottish weather isn't really one that goes well with water rides...

Though there is good news, bad news also hits the park. With the ride itself going over budget, even with them leaving areas of empty patches of theming, the park was expected to gain a repaint for many of the attractions, alas, this plan had to be abandoned to help with 'Bolgalta'. Nevertheless, Morrison has claimed that this was only a one off and vows to make sure the park will deserve treatment when it comes to anniversary years.

And here are some photos during the summer season, a year of mixed fortunes for some...

Shot0461.jpg

Before the ride was first built, this shots taken during the '99 season shows the ride starting off on a patch of mud...

Shot0462.jpg

Many hills here were dug up and this photos shows the great space the ride has, though what comes next is beyond anyone's expectations...

Shot0463.jpg

What a difference a year makes! The front facade of the ride is seen all too clear here.

Shot0468.jpg

Another shot with all four attractions together. Clearly this has become a heavy themed area of the park.

Shot0474.jpg

The outdoor queuing area. Though there is a lack of greenery, it is hoped that trees will grow back someday.

Shot0466.jpg

In the station area of the ride, one lucky guest getting the first ride of the day thanks to him staying at the hotel and getting the early opening hours.

Shot0475.jpg

The journey begins through this darkened temple area.

Shot0467.jpg

Though this inside temple is in fact another tin shed at the back, some fans have complained that this gives the game away, though to the park's credit have installed some trees that were brought down from the Highlands to help blend the big shed in.

Shot0465.jpg

The scale of this giant metal shed is seen clearly with another level for the when the rapids head to the top.

Shot0464.jpg

Though up here, there won't be much a view as trees cover that view up.

Shot0469.jpg

Here is another interesting shot from the back of 'Lochty Mansion' with the view of the rapids covered up, probally for the best so that it won't clash with the horror theme of 'Lochty Estate'.

Shot0470.jpg

Here we see a shot of Revelation for all the track nerds! ;)

Shot0471.jpg

Over in 'Thrill Sector', Tornado's red paint scheme is starting to fade slightly non-SAC fans would think that the ride's time's up, though it still has many more years left in it.

Shot0472.jpg

Though LT-X is proving to be a bit hit with guests.

Shot0473.jpg

The queue for the ride is seen here, showing how, despite rather being called 'Blackpool-ish' by fans, has certainly been a worthwhile investment.

Shot0481.jpg

Also new for the 2000 season, hotel guests have the exclusive chance to explore the park at nighttime after the park closes for the day. The park is only opened for those hotel guests from 6pm to 10pm. Here are some shots of the park during the night, the first time we've seen the park like this.

So that's that for now, and the start of a new decade for the park! Though don't feel too safe, next time, the 2001 season will see the park make a blunder on a grand scale! What will it be? Stay tuned next time to find out!

YAY! More tin sheds! :p
I'd be interesting to know more about the layout of the rapids. The shed reminds me of Valhalla. ;)

Now what's all this about a blunder?

Ah, the blunder is...well, let's say for a little spoiler, that the park has a little fall out with KMG over a new ride...let's just say that it'll be another certain park's advantage... ;)

Though that's all I'm gonna say for now. :p

Hey there, nice to see some progress.

I love your storylines, they always seem realistic and you clearly love them game. The rapids look nice, too, as does the dark ride.

One niggle is that the rock façade on the Atlantis dark ride is not very realistic. I can't tell if that's the look you're going for, but if you want to make it look real, try not to use the same type of rock all the time. ShyGuy's stuff is great, but if you just keep pressing shift and wacking them on they can quickly look amateur. Having said that, the interior looks really, really good, and I guess that's what counts.

Can't wait to see what this blunder is, too. Keep us up to date. :)

Alright then, it's now 2001 for the park and a year that makes you stare in disbelieve! So what's happened then? Well...let's read and find out.

Autumn 2001
After beginning the new decade for the park with a bang, 2001 was originally a year that was suppose to be a small investment year for the park and nothing else. After investing in such major expensive attractions such as Atlantis and Bolgata (in total nearly costing a whooping £30 million!) then it is quite understandable. By the end of the 2000 season, thanks to the internet, a piece of concept art leaked out onto the internet of a new KMG Booster ride to go in Thrill Sector, what it was supposed to be named is unknown. At first, fans are unsure what to make of it, LT-X had some mixed reviews with fans and this looks like this ride will be another type of ride. For KMG, St Adams have worked with them before when they installed a heavily themed Afterburner ride called 'TNT' in the Rugged West area so everything seemed like it was to be a normal year...little did anyone know of what happened next...

In February of 2001, the pieces of the ride were delivered to the park and the ride would be installed during that month, ready for the opening day in March. However, when the ride came, everyone at the park was in for a shock.

It was an Afterburner!

Due to a confusion with some planning between the offices of SAC and KMG with choosing the selected ride, a blunder on a grand scale from KMG was to come in the form that they had a mix up with the plans with the old Afterburner already at the park, the park had bought the wrong ride! A furious Brian Morrison found himself arguing with the Dutch company to change the ride immediately, though KMG wouldn't let that be, and with opening day around the corner, Morrison had no choice but to cancel the new ride. The first time in the park's history that no new ride or attraction (minus 1996) was installed. A major blow for guests as they were all expecting a new ride after such media promotion. From this blunder that had made SAC the unfortunate laughing point of that year among coaster enthusiasts, SAC and KMG official cut ties with one another and it seems like they are unlikely to work together again.

Though with an unwanted Afterburner lying in their workshop area, they decided to sell the ride in an attempt to get back their money back. Amazingly, it wasn't too long until a certain Lord bought the ride from SAC...Lord Blithering Ffool, the owner of his own park, 'Blithering Lodge'. Like the rest of the Coaster community, his lordship was well aware of the situation that had occurred with the park and decided to help out by buying the ride of them and install it for the 2002 season down south. It is reported that Morrison didn't battered an eyelid to sell it off quickly to his Lordship. The two men met at the main SAC offices where the agreement lasted less than 5 minutes when the two men agreed on a handshake and Morrison reportedly saying "Here, it's all yours now, now get that b****** thing out of here!"

On a cold night in September of that year, trucks came to pick up the ride for it's journey down south. And with it being such a hated ride after lying there in the workshop area for sometime, there was no goodbye party as it left. Whatever it will be themed has yet to be seen for the following year, though it is likely the ride will receive a new coat of paint. After such a rotten year for the park, surely it has to get better? Thankfully it does as the dark ride Lochty Mansion closes at the end of the season and will be revamped for next year to celebrate it's 10th anniversary. Though in the meantime, let us hope that we won't be seeing a year like this again for sometime to come.

And here are a few photos of such a crazy season...

conceptart_zps485d640d.png

The concept art that leaked out on the net showing the KMG Booster. If built, it would be one of the tallest rides in the park.

Shot0486_zps90166a7c.jpg

Apart from the new ride, the park has now been accepting more sponsors, this time, a new one with Burger King in Thrill Sector.

Shot0488_zps9d65b984.jpg

Lying there in the workshop area, is the damned ride, notice the old Tornado train still sitting there after the new trains replaced it in 1995.

Shot0489_zps0084618b.jpg

Another shot of the ride parts with the old train in the back there. It is unknown what may lie in that shed, though that is where some of the themed magic is made...

Shot0492_zpsd8e2bdcc.jpg

Around 3 trucks came in two nights to collect parks of the ride for their journey to their new home at Blithering Lodge. This picture shows the last of the ride parts leaving the park.

Another shot here shows the truck heading away with it's Dutch cargo.

Shot0485_zps8af96a59.jpg

Back on the park, the entrance for Lochty Mansion has been sealed off for the revamp to take place.

Shot0490_zpsd3d746b2.jpg

In October however, one lucky passer by captured this shot with a truck with new trains heading into the park. It looks like new trains for Lochty Mansion!

Ooh! New trains?! And what a blundering year for the park. Now I know what your thinking, surely that can't happen to any park in real life? Well, this is Scotland after all, and things are always crazy here! :p

And yes, giving BL a mention like that (SAC exists as a side-story). I half came up with the idea during a Skype chat, and it gives me an excuse not to install anything as I'm close to running out ideas, though I do have some that should lead the topic to the present time and onwards to 2013, it's always nice to hear other's opinions.

And for the meantime, I'll leave you hanging there, and who knows? More going on's between SAC and BL in the future? Haha I wish! :D

Yes, it's true. I can confirm that Blithering's Afterburner came from this mix up at SAC. His Lordship was thinking of buying one anyway, but when he heard of this blunder, it was the perfect oppertunity to get a brand new ride on the cheap.
This has become a bit of an urban legend in Blithering circles. The sort of thing the park doesn't like to boast about, and that few people believe.... but it's true. It's all there on LLF. Go read their forum ;)

Since His Lordship was able to help Brian Morrison out with this tricky situation, it marked the start of a close relationship between the two parks. After all, they are far enough apart that neither is a threat to the other's business.

Lovely update! I do enjoy the storylines that weave every update together and the Burger King looks fantastic. I really like the signs and colour scheme. :)

Meanwhile, the Berrington family have just crossed you both off their Christmas card list. A Manor just isn't a castle, nor a lodge, and the fact that you two have been cavorting behind their backs has made them rather jealous, which tends to bring out the worst of their pompous attitudes. I apologize for their rudeness. ;)

So is this how things are going to be from now on? A great big continuity crossover between all TST Parks...

...well it was bound to happen eventually. It's just a shame I don't seem to have a park yet.

Nice update. As far as the parks concerned I think it’s just a case of keep developing what you've got. Update wise you might want to consider mixing the text and the pictures some more. It'll make each update seem less daunting to read if you slowly put the story in while showing off the pictures.

Alright then! It's time for another update from SAC! And after such a terrible season last year, will the park be able to dig up some dignity? Read to find out...

Spring 2002
Ask any fan of SAC and they'll say that 2001 never happened. (Despite having a strong attendance figure of over 500,000.) Who could blame them after getting the wrong ride in embarrassing circumstances? Thankfully, the damned KMG Afterburner the park received has now gotten a new home at Blithering Lodge and opened for the '02 season. There was no doubt that 2002 had to be the year that SAC got back some respected, though it wasn't going to be easy than to simply install a new flat ride...It had to be top class in order to show that St. Adam's Castle was on it's way to compete with the best. Towards to end of the 2001 season, Lochty Mansion was closed and was to be revamped for it's 10th Birthday for next year, clearly it was going to be another dark ride year for the park. Many fans will remember seeing new trains arrive at the park last year that would help confirm that the revamp would be more than a simple case of TLC. The ride cars, as many theme park fan will know, are like those of the Spider-man attraction at Islands of Adventures in Orlando, and have the ability to move in nearly every direction. On a visit to Florida with his wife and three children in 1999, Brian Morrison first encountered the new ride when it was first opened to the public. Despite disliking the 3D effects (which Morrison is know for thinking that 3D is pointless) he was however won over by the ride system and knew that this sort of ride would be perfect for Lochty's 10th anniversary. During the Winter of the '01 season, new advertising posters emerged in the Media and on the park's website such as this one.
return.png

On TV, adverts for the ride show a sinister and dark adventure that seems to show that this ride will be appealing for an adult crowd. Though despite every fan knowing that Lochty Mansion will look new for '02, fans start to speculate at what will be happening with the ride, soon enough, they'd all find out during the opening 2002 season...The ride is now under the new name of 'Return to Lochty Mansion'.

On opening, the public and fans alike and stunned at the new ride. Like it's Atlantis dark ride counterpart, the ride has a storyline, and it is uniquely enough a sequel to the old ride. The story goes as during the course of the Lochty Mansion being opened for the last ten years, the supernatural forces have become more and more frequent and even violent, causing the Mansion to be closed off the the public as a team of experts went in to see what was going on. One by one, members of the group suddenly disappeared, never to be heard of again. As guests enter they find the remains of the highly advanced rovers that were designed to explore the Mansion, though it would seem that all of the surviving experts have abandoned and fled. Little do guests know what they are getting themselves in for...

The ride reopens to overwhelming reviews, many praising the ride system and it's continuation of the old ride's storyline, though it's not without it's critics...

With it being more aimed for the older crowd with some terrifying moments in the ride that the attraction scares many guests, practically young children. So much so that Morrison even considers adding an age limit to the ride. Despite what might happen, nevertheless, the ride helps SAC get back to normal and the attraction itself is a fitting way to celebrate such a classic dark ride. The only way is up for the park. And here are some photos from early on in the season...

Shot0446-1.jpg

The Lochty Estate area has also had a few touch ups with the addition of a new wall seen here on the path way.

Shot0445-1.jpg

A new booth for buying on-ride photos of Revelation has also popped up.

Shot0447-1.jpg

The entrance to the Mansion...dare you enter?

Shot0461-1.jpg

These brave souls do...

Shot0462-1.jpg

Guests see a strange green glow in all parts of the queue...something's not right.

Shot0463-1.jpg

On arrival at the station, the Rovers lay abandoned and only one or two members of the old team (the ride operators!) are still there.

Shot0450-1.jpg

The ride also includes an on-ride soundtrack, in which has Dr. Wallace (head of the old team) guiding you on your adventure as you attempt to find any survivors of the old team.

Shot0451-1.jpg

Round the corner is a corridor that starts off the adventure.

Shot0464-1.jpg

And at this point, there is no turning back...

Shot0472-1.jpg

After a sudden flash of white lights, riders find themselves in the Supernatural world and see that the cause of the green lights earlier in the queue lines was from a gap in time that riders entered in.

Shot0452-1.jpg

The simpleness of blackened effects helps to make the ride scary, with various 'feet ticklers' and various other effects in the cars helping that.

Shot0465-1.jpg

Round another corner, guests find to their horror of one of the old ride cars on fire, clearly there is more here than just simple ghosts.

Shot0454-1.jpg

After going down another corridor, guests find themselves in a dark woodland. It is here when riders found out the truth of the old team members...

Shot0455-1.jpg

The old workers have been caught by the demons and have become ghosts themselves, trapped in this world forever.

Shot0456-1.jpg

Now it is a race for your life, and the ride stops during one part of the ride when the rover breaks down, and the car getting rocked about and ghosts on your back, it is a terrifying moment to make even the bravest guest scream.

Shot0457-1.jpg

The ride starts moving again, and on the radio, Dr Wallace has found a way to bring you back into the real world if he can adjust a few things where he is, all you have to do is not get caught!

Shot0470-1.jpg

Eventually he get's it working and you are on your way home, though all the ghosts soon block your entrance, is it all over?

Shot0471-1.jpg

Just in the nick of time, the rover lands in the second station area. Guests by this point are either shaking or letting out some nervous oughts of laughter as they leave. Truly, the ride is now a masterpiece in dark rides. The park finally is back on top.

Shot0459-1.jpg

While on the inside it is all good, outside is not so good. Since the ride's opening, Like with Air's tunnel at Alton Towers, fans complain of the steel wall seen in this photo, complaining that it ruins the theming of the area. Whenever this is seen to at a later date remains to be seen, but with the Internet being more advance these days, who knows how fans will be able to keep contact with mr Morrison...

So that's that for now, It'l be a smaller update for the park in 2003, but before I go, I'd like to show you some inside photos of the dark rides without their tin shed's on. ;) For those who wanted to see that, here we go!

So there, see you next time with the park in 2003, try and have a guess of what might be coming in that year, remember, it won't be big or even another dark ride! :p

Oh would you look at that, it's another update...BUT with a twist! ;) Oh yes, I'm going to show two years on this update with the years 2003 and 4, 'cause two's better than one, haha! Nah, but seriously, I think It'll help speed up the years on the park as I want to get the park by the year 2012 in RCT world and in this world, so that it'll be ready for something new next year. But anyway, you'll have to see what we have here when the park enters the year of 2003...

Autumn 2003
After seemingly making it up for the fans with the revamp of Lochty Mansion, 2003 looks to be another quiet year for the park, though it's new installation does surprise many fans. Its new attraction is a new show located in Tortuga Bay called 'Those Pirates!' The twenty-minute show is a rather humorous misadventure of Captain Bozo and his bumbling crew on their quest to find Treasure. Simple enough show to talk about and packed with in-jokes and sometimes even topical jokes to amuse the adults, it is also rather funny to think that none of the fans on the park's new fan-forum site (SACFans.net) thought twice about entertainment as throughout the park's life, there has been no entertainments (the small shows in the hotel don't really count.)

Despite what some enthusiasts think by adding simply a new ride will make a park good, adding shows is important to really increase the value of a park and important for the park's quest to become a force in European theme park circles, though it's small size can lead to some debate (!)

The show itself gains a popular following; though it's low cost was a good thing to add with the big additions before hand costing a lot. Let us hope that more shows maybe on the way. And here are some photos from later on in the season...

Shot0442-2.jpg

The outside of the show, the reason that there is no queue is that a show's already on (Not that I couldn't make one... ;) )

Shot0443-2.jpg

Another view of the building.

Shot0444-2.jpg

Unlike another tin shed, there is theming for where the show building is!

Shot0468-1.jpg

Else where in the park, Flying Dutchman has had it's trains painted orange. Here we see the ride pass near the monorail.

Shot0456-2.jpg

The car park. Even during this late on in the season, the park is still very popular as it now hit's 700,000 guests a year for 2003, will we see it reach the magical 1 million mark in a few years?

Shot0455-2.jpg

New trains have arrived at the park! And they look like woodie trains...

Spring 2004
For many enthusiasts, a wooden roller coaster is always a prized piece in the mindsets of many. The park's own woody, 'Duststorm' (built also by Vekoma), is highly regarded by many fans and is the oldest ride in the park, being built in 1989, a year before the park opened. Despite it being such a major must-do ride, it's monstrous size can put some younger riders, so how does one try and make younger riders want to ride a woodie? The answer is quite simple...build a smaller one!

The little Woodie is named 'Dust cloud', a junior version of it's bigger neighbour. The new ride is built by SAC's old friend's Vekoma and is quite unique, even in modern wooden coaster circles. The ride is the smallest roller coaster in the park and one of a few parks in the UK to have at least two Wooden coasters in a ride list. The ride is also one of a few that goes on for a second circuit, the only one in the park to do so.

The year is also a great cause of celebration as Revelation celebrates it's 10th anniversary, coincidental it is also 10 years since the park installed a new roller coaster since then. The news of a new wooden roller coaster in the Britain is greeted warmly by many neutral UK enthusiasts. Here are some photos from that season...

Shot0445-2.jpg

Here is 'Dust cloud'. Noticed it's small size but despite it's looks, it can pull a punch!

Shot0446-2.jpg

The train for the ride, only one is needed.

Shot0453-2.jpg

The ride turns round at the top and begins it's run.

Shot0454-2.jpg

A near full train shows how popular this little ride has become to many.

Shot0449-2.jpg

Another shot from a different day, here we can see it's small but well themed station.

Shot0448-2.jpg

For some riders, they come quite close at times for having a near 'head chopper' moment with the Afterburner!

Shot0452-2.jpg

The train takes a small slow point at that hill in the foreground before the train catches speed again at the next drop.

Shot0451-2.jpg

The ride then heads on a final straight before going into the station...and doing it all over again!

Shot0447-2.jpg

And much like with Duststorm, Dust cloud helps separate the 'Rugged West' area, thus making the area the largest in the park.

Finally, here are a few shots of Revelation...celebrating 10 years of scaring the living daylights out of many guests.

So there, two years, two for the price of one update! Anyway, I do this for the next few updates, depending on what you guys think if I should, that was just done as I was wanting to get that wooden coaster out of my head.

Until then, catch you later.

Well look, it's another update, but like with the last post, it's another twist! It's a little sneak peak at what will be new for the 2005 season...taken from their website

The Race Is On!

In 2005, a new 4D adventure will take it's place in Corral Town! In a exclusive partnership with RUG (Really Useful Group) guests will have to brace themselves for the fastest show on Earth when it takes up it's place in St. Adams Castle!

Opening March 2005, only at St Adams and no other place in the world!

Mmm, what do we have here then...I'll post another update maybe later this week.... ;)

Spamming again! Yeah I know it is annoying, but I'm updating the topic with the years '05 and '06. Anyway, let's hope I can get the topic 'finished' by the end of this year when the park is at the year 2012. Anyway, without further ado, let's carry on!

Spring 2005
The 3D theatre in Corral Town has always been somewhat of a thorn in the side of SAC for many years. It started off with a horrible show, then went with a slightly better, though not that good, show. So what had the park planned for the 2005 season, with it also being the park's 15th birthday, an unofficial celebration shared by fans, what would be going inside the yellow building? The answer is something that no one was expecting.

The new show has been upgraded to 4D, but the show is now none other than 'Starlight Express'. Last year, the old West End show went on a tour of the UK and during it's heyday was famous for turning the Apollo Theatre into a roller derby. Of course now with turning every theatre into a roller derby was out of the question for the tour, so instead the show went for using a 3D section of the show.

The original show was launched on the West End in 1984 and written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (eventually becoming the second longest running show on the West end closing in 2002) and many theatre critics thought the show was rubbish, with the cast all on roller skates pretending to be trains, some cheesy songs and a basic plot (the show being aimed at kids.) Nevertheless a young Brian Morrison first saw the show in 1986 and fell in love with it (which to this day he still has warm memories of that show), and when he heard the the touring version was to have a 3D section for the races, this gave him a grand idea...

The new attraction opens for the start of the '05 season, with a special licence from RUG (Webber's company), and fans are rather mixed with the show. On one hand they are pleased that the theatre has now been converted to 4D, but they don't know what to think of the show itself. Whatever fans might think about the show, it is one attraction that is a personal one for Morrison. And here are some pictures of the attraction and Corral Town from the start of the season...

Shot0466-2.jpg

Not much on the outside of the building has changed, other than new signage has gone up.

Shot0467-2.jpg

Another shot from the queue area.

Shot0463-2.jpg

From a distance now, it is hoped that the new attraction, despite what some fans might think of it, it is hoped that it'll help the park break the 900,000 guests a year barrier.

Alright, so it's now with 2006, and a year with a big shock on the cards!

Autumn 2006
For any British theme park fan, 2006 is quite a meltdown year. The UK looses two theme parks, American Adventure and Southport Pleasure Land, and many rides and attractions, most of which finding a new home in other UK parks. Scottish rival park Loudoun Castle has bought the old Spaceshot ride and plan to install it for the next season, much to SAC's annoyance as their Spaceshot ride will no longer be the only one in Scotland.

Despite many problems other parks might be having, SAC continues to work without much problems. 2006 see's the park install a new flat ride in Lochty Estate called 'Judgement'. The ride is a Top Scan ride from Mondial (yet another Dutch ride at the park!) and is given a small touch of theming here and there to help it seem more interesting, rather than simply plonking it down as a filler attraction.

The ride itself becomes a hit with the public and fans alike, though after a rather normal season for SAC standards, during the start of the season, a huge shock came that at the end of the season, Flying Dutchman was to go.

After many years since it first opened with the park in 1990, The Flying Dutchman is set to leave St Adams Castle at the end of the season. We understand that the ride has earned itself a small following and we shall be having a 'Goodbye' event towards the end of the season.

Park owner, Brian Morrison, said "It is a difficult choice to make, but are wanting to bring the park forward and it does mean that 'Flying Dutchman' will be leaving us. We'd like to thank everyone who helped the ride become what it is today and I hope to see many of our fans there to give it a much deserved send off."

As expected, fans turn up in their droves to wish the old Arrow Swinger a fond farewell. It may not have been the best Swinger in the world, but it was loved by many nevertheless. Now fans are starting to speculate for what will be it's replacement. What ever it might be, it'll have to be a special ride for the park. And here some shots towards the end of that season...

The end of an era...1989-2006.

Where's me tissue box? :'( Don't worry, I've already recorded the POV of the ride and I'll be putting up other POV's of this, Tornado, Duststorm and others when the park reaches the year 2010, the 20th anniversary year. So until, try and think what will be installed for next time? Note, it won't be installed for the 2007 season as it'll have to be built up then.

And yes the Starlight Express show, yeah I know what some might think, I went to see it in Edinburgh for it's 2012 tour not so long ago, and while it is retro and cheesy, I still loved it. :p

But that poor little swinger...
