Strangest memories from school?

Here's a memory from primary school:

Our teacher gave us the assignment to write the usual "what I did at the weekend", but with as much waffle as possible. By the end of class, I had only got as far as eating breakfast. I'd mentioned how many steps I had to descend, the size of the tiles in the kitchen, the height of my dog, you name it; if it was unnecessary detail it was in there.

The following week, the assignment was to be as brief as possible. I wrote a single word, "Lego."

Both times my work was held up as a perfect example to the class. (The point was, of course, to teach us to be somewhere in the middle).

I remember going on a school trip to Germany, aged about 16, and we all went to the pub because it was legal to drink beer there age 16. I don't mean we went clandestinely: it was an organised activity. That wouldn't fly now, but I do think it was fine. Less clearly OK was the stop off at a Calais booze store on the way home to buy duty free, primarily for the teachers I guess, but pupils were allowed to as well, so I got a crate of beer and some terrible wine. No one batted an eyelid. Seems a bit off with hindsight.

Hehe, in sixth form, we had skiing trip to Bulgaria. Our teachers were the ones that took us to an "all you can drink tequila bar".
Can't say I recommend Bulgarian tequila, if you were wondering.
