Here's a memory from primary school:
Our teacher gave us the assignment to write the usual "what I did at the weekend", but with as much waffle as possible. By the end of class, I had only got as far as eating breakfast. I'd mentioned how many steps I had to descend, the size of the tiles in the kitchen, the height of my dog, you name it; if it was unnecessary detail it was in there.
The following week, the assignment was to be as brief as possible. I wrote a single word, "Lego."
Both times my work was held up as a perfect example to the class. (The point was, of course, to teach us to be somewhere in the middle).
