A lot of people don't like them, like myself. I want more flats so there's support rides to soak up queues so the coasters aren't as busy.
Flats can be well themed and fit in with an area if done well. Again please refer to Loki at Liseberg. They can also look horrible and not fit at all--see most of the flats at Energylandia.
The last time Towers dabbled with a drop ride, it closed 3 years later. Not to mention then turned into a poor scare maze another 3 years after that.
I think you're just showing how few scare attractions you have experienced with that comment; it's utter dross.
It was better than mine tours and welcoming. Not as good as sub species tho. I'm interested to see what attic will be like
Not a joke... I enjoyed them all, but think they fit in more at Roger Tuby and son's than AT. There are so many small or travelling set ups that have similar attractions.
I think flats can work well in AT but they have to be well themed to avoid it looking like a carnival ride being dumped in the middle.
I wonder would it be possible to make a themed/dark water ride which can get you wet or not on different cycles so the queue could split part way depending on which ride experience you want. It doesn't have to be a dark ride at all, really, that would just be nice because it might be pretty boring on the dry cycle otherwise. It'd be a world first too if it doesn't already exist and can be guaranteed, not just luck like a rapids ride or by selecting front/back seats.
But where's the fun in that? It's like playing Russian roulette with blanks. River Quest is perfect for this, you'll either get dribbled on or waterboarded. Either way it's fun, especially when you get dumped in a boat with an angry German dad. They get soo dramatic on that ride My personal (realistic) hope for SW9 would be a Gerst multilaunch to replace RITA.
Personally I can’t see a gap in towers coaster lineup apart from the obvious gigs/hyper which we know won’t be built due to planning regs. I would like another b&m - just because I love their coasters. Maybe their new prototype? More sensibly a Mack launch (icon on drugs) would be better
I know it's unlikely merlin would ever go for one but an RMC could do major airtime on a small footprint e.g. Untamed. Could even look at a launched lift hill like Lighting Rod to further cut down height
