The Alton Towers Dungeon

Dungeon building is getting Solar panels isn’t it? At least it’s not getting ripped down I guess.
-hoping- for another Curse style re-imagined experiences (maybe something family friendly)

Best case I’d hope the entire thing is gutted to make way a new ETF ride like Chocolate Quest at Cadbury World.

This doesn't come as any surprise to me. The Dungeons appeared to be struggling to generate sales. It would have likely been a waste to have reverted it from the Amigo's maze to only struggle with sales again and a wasted operational cost. May as well leave the maze intact for Scarefest 2025.

Hopefully, it can (eventually) be redeveloped with that whole side of the park, which desperately needs investment.

Not in anyway surprised... I'm not sure why they didn't just announce this at the start of the season, as they clearly knew there was next to no chance of it returning. If they had actually just announced it was closing in July, they might have actually got a sales boost from FOMO and 'last ride ever' type bookings.

The second they announced a maze was going in there, its fate was sealed. Based on usual Scarefest patterns, best bet is that Amigos is planned to return through to 2026, and they are planning on redeveloping the boat ride for 2027.

Which one might guess might, just might, tie into the Project Horizon development next door opening together in 2027, or even be a follow on after PH opens in 2026 (though that might be a tad optimistic now)

I think you’re being generous. I think they’ll get 3/4 years out of amigos and trick or treat. PH 2028 and dungeons 2027.
