It is YouTube, most of it is. Ladbaby turned into a brand years ago.

Also what happened to face coverings on rides. Is it lifted for you tubers.

It’s the same with all these kind of “influences”, they are very much a brand and certainly not like how I imagine they started out. It’s all very staged and fixed in the vids.

and yes of course the mask rule doesn’t apply to marketing and YouTube.

I assume they had a train to themselves if they weren’t wearing masks

I learned something new today... that the Oblivion music is actually a track called Stressed Out, on the album Strictly Drum 'n' Bass by Dominic Glynn. You can find it here, track 11. Dominic Glynn is a composer whose music has appeared in many TV programmes such as Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, and The Simpsons, as well as the feature films Holy Man and Kevin & Perry Go Large.

I take it the album version does not include "this ride is perfectly safe, everything has been designed for your comfort and enjoyment".

Should've used track 12 as part of the queueline too! Very similar sound palette with the sax and the sub-bass.

Am I the only one that finds Simon Allen's compositions to lack a certain je ne sais quoi?

Yeah, theyre well produced for a UK park in house but they sometimes don’t have the touch that makes a memorable soundtrack. Theyre good compositions, just maybe need more spark or dynamic, they can be a bit staid.

No fault of his. I assume producing the music is a side job the park have asked him to do in addition to his main job.

Still it’s great to have unique soundtracks for the events, different from the days the park used royalty free tracks for everything

Oh absolutely, it's clear they're getting him to do it as it'll be vastly cheaper (and no doubt quicker) than commissioning something from IMAscore for example. There's nothing wrong with them but they do sound a little budget.

I think Alton are lucky to have someone in house who can knock up these things.

Of course, it's not the mass of expertise of somewhere like IMA or T Rex Classics but it gets the job done.

I'm sure if Oktoberfest is to become a larger and more permanent fixture, they'll make investments in future in more ambitious soundtracks and scenery.

Not sure this is 1996, Henry had been put to sleep by then.

Think It'll just be a re-run of the previous segment, as the Gardener's World page states "as we look back on some of our favourite moments of 2020".

Someone has uploaded their family trips to Alton Towers in 1993 and 1991, some interesting footage at certain points.

Some moments of interest: 1991 shows footage of Doom and Sons exterior and interior at 23:43, followed by Around the World in 80 Days, Float parade next to the courtyard at 35:32, and some quick shots of the Grand Canyon Rapids in its' final year, I still find it very strange to see the bare bones theming and land work. 1993 at 4:38 shows float parade again, this time at The Land of Make Believe, the detail of those floats are really impressive! (at least to me any ways, I love the Runaway Mine Train float), the rest of the 1993 video isn't all too interesting for me, seems to focus mostly on Festival Park and The Land of Make Believe.
