The Finest Ale

Stupid question I know.

What are the towers themed peakstone brewery stuff like? I did enquire about them sending me some in the post, but it's not something they do. Driving 2/3 hours for a couple of bottles is not an easy sell to the missies at the mo.

Ooooooft.

It's a sipper for sure, the big old alcohol is quite present, but still smooooth and just like a melted Mars bar.

Oldfields is pretty damn nice, middle of the sweet/dry swing on cider. I'll let @MattyH review Hagley Hall (the loco is rateable, the beer ain't me)

Not sure where else to put this but...

Sometimes it feels a bit **** living in this country, but I love our pub culture.

Been out with my mates all day and got a cab home. Currently in my local on my own having a couple of solo pints before match of the day. Juke box playing Eric Clapton, people playing pool, and full of happy, drunk idiots.

Dark curtains, sticky carpets, a fireplace and battered dart board. It's beautiful.

Enjoying a beer in Belgium, absolutely love the Ruby Leffe as it’s so refreshing. Such a pity that they’ve recently changed the regular Leffe in the UK and lowered its abv but in doing so changed its flavour for the worse.

My latest delivery from my current favourite brewery, Phantom. Starting with a very sensible table beer and it's a beaut, packing so much flavour into a low ABV, it's rare they are this good. Gives the legendary Kernel table beer a run for its money.

I can't recommend Phantom enough.

Had a chocolate fudge brownie beer from northern monk tonight. Was nice but wasn't exactly flowing with flavour.

Northern Monk are a strange old brewery. They knock out loads of gimmicky **** to supermarkets, some drinkable but rarely very good, but then also make some of the very best beer you'll ever find, often under their Patrons Project line. Makes it very difficult to decide to rusk picking one up when other options are available.

Currently sipping a good old Spitfire.
From my Spitfire (the plane) tankard I got at Duxford a couple of months ago. Must say, that was a good day out. Nothing like drinking Spitfire ale while actual Spitfires swoop above you. ;)

Did you twiddle your moustache, smoke a pipe and have a scarf blowing in the breeze?

Just back crom Spoons. They had Bishop’s Finger. Not had that in ages. Forgotten how nice it is. :)

Had an evening out in the Liverpool for the first time in a while last evening. Up on Hope Street and frequented the Arts Bar, and The Pen Factory.

Had a few pints of Camden Pale Ale, the venues own Arts Bar Lager, then in the pen factory a few Krombachers. And a pint of Titanic Plum Porter.

Also a lovely touch on the Camden pint glasses;
