The Funfair News & Discussion Thread

Nottingham Goose Fair starts tomorrow. Saw this pretty cool drone shot on Facebook.

Oooh, that's really going to screw things up for non-locals. It'll be a long walk from the station to the showground. Glad I wasn't planning to go this year now!

It's called civilisation, old bean. ;)

It's about 35-40 minutes according to crapple maps. It's been a while, but I believe it's uphill (both ways), isn't it?
Not a huge distance for an afternoon stroll, but a long trek when you're knackered at the end of the day. And I'm going to assume there isn't a bus route that follows the tram (it would be redundant). And no hope of getting an Über with those crowds, not to mention the surge pricing.

Where's @rob666 to back me up on accessability grounds?

If only there were ranks of taxis outside of train stations, where you can waddle on over and ask them to take you somewhere in return for a fee, without the use of an app on a smart device.

Never thought you, of all people, would have become indoctrinated to the Uberverse.

Oh, I was thinking of your average phone zombie. Of course I know how the world used to and still should work. ;)

Equinox was just as good as I remembered it to be from back in 2009, It's a shame they weren't doing to low rolls, but the rest of the sequence was fantastic, Yes its a little uncomfortable at times, but its beautifully intense and surprisingly forceful. Although the £6 ride price was a little steeper than the £2.50 I paid in 09' but totally worth it.

Looks like hopefully a 80 metre Funtime Drop Tower called "Lion" will be in the UK next year.

Currently owned by H.P. Maier in Switzerland, UK showman Tommy Mathews Jnr has purchased it.

It's great to finally see a travelling freefall drop tower in the UK! If it ever comes anywhere near me I'll be straight there!
