What's wrong with a longer queue? Get great views and it's entertaining to watch. One of the only rides I enjoy queueing for so I can see it flying aroundI'll only do it if the queue's retatively short anyway.

I actually agree here, The Smiler's queue is a mess but it's great being underneath the coaster as you're queuing for it.What's wrong with a longer queue? Get great views and it's entertaining to watch. One of the only rides I enjoy queueing for so I can see it flying around
Yes, it adds to the theatre. What's wrong with a longer queue? Get great views and it's entertaining to watch. One of the only rides I enjoy queueing for so I can see it flying around

I think the craziness of the ride also gets your heart rate going in the queue. I stand by this that the smiler is the only ride I look at in towers that makes me think 'oh s**t'Back in the early 2000s, the BBC show Tomorrows World did an experiment with John Wardley where one group of people queued for Colossus at Thorpe Park, while another group waited in a room and couldn't see the ride at all. Then they measured heart rate and asked questions to determine the effects on the riders. I'm pretty sure those who queued and watched the ride for an hour had more of a reaction to the ride.

Oh I don't get that feeling on the smiler, just looking at it. In terms of when I'm on the ride, Rita gets me nervous and my heart racing. Think that's just launch coasters in generalI get that more on Oblivion, it is still one of the only rides in the world that when on the lift hill I question whether I should be on it. Apocolypse at Drayton Manor also gives similar feelings for me.
Because I don't want to queue an hour and find that I don't like it.What's wrong with a longer queue? Get great views and it's entertaining to watch. One of the only rides I enjoy queueing for so I can see it flying around
But if you queue an hour and love it you'd never know.Because I don't want to queue an hour and find that I don't like it.
I thought you get RAP in which case you won't have to queue for an hour. They never give more than about 30 mins.Because I don't want to queue an hour and find that I don't like it.
I want to get the front row for my first ride though, that's why I'm going to use the main queue (RAP have to use the back row).I thought you get RAP in which case you won't have to queue for an hour. They never give more than about 30 mins.
Ah that's interesting, I didn't know that. It's at the bottom of the stairs right? There's no guarantee they'll honour requests for front row and RAP merges with main queue before the station so it doesn't make any difference which entrance you use.

So they only check at the queue entrance? In that'll case I'll use the RAP entrance.
fixed seating isn't an offically stated rule!If you are using the RAP queue then surely you need to follow the rules and sit in the back row?

Doesn't happen on Wicker Man!If you are using the RAP queue then surely you need to follow the rules and sit in the back row?
it depends on the host, some do fixed seat some don't, it's not like oblivion or rita where they are really strict and will even detrain guests after restraint checks are complete. If the batching host is informed by the guest that they have RAP or they happen to notice the wrist band what happens?
