Well if its not open by then I think I'll start to worry. It'll be open soon enoughWell fingers crossed it'll be open on the 25th, as I'm (finally) going to ride for the first time if it is.![]()

Its been down since Monday morning (never opened all day).
Could this have something to do with the apparent fight in the queue line that happened on Sunday evening? If any damage was caused they wouldn't be able to open until it was repaired
Surely if it was damging to fencing they could put in temporary fencing. Who knows I guessCould this have something to do with the apparent fight in the queue line that happened on Sunday evening? If any damage was caused they wouldn't be able to open until it was repaired![]()

If part of the damaged fencing is to stop guests from accessing the ride area, then I doubt there's any way they'll take chances with temporary fencing.Surely if it was damging to fencing they could put in temporary fencing. Who knows I guess

I going on Fri 15th for my last visit this season, so I do hope its repaired by then. Then again I'm more concerned about Wicker Man reliability at moment

I was thinking the same, but didn't want to bring up Sundays events. I feel its just a coincident since ride was running still and queue open in Theme Park Wordwide video as security made there way to ride.
As @Jonathan said, it won't open till secure & safe, last thing anyone wants is another accident.

Yeah I think we'd all like to move on from that unpleasantness, however it does seem like a bit too much of a coincidence. They will close rides if the queue line is in a state of disrepair, they had CRR shut all day once when I visited because of emergency queue-line repairs. (Don't think that was caused by a fight though!
Just to assure people, as I was there, the current downtime is nothing to do with anything that may have taken place Sunday.
We queued for the Smiler 1st thing Monday and testing ran fine and then when the first train went out with guests it then became stuck in the brake run. No idea if the issue was that train or the next one due to leave the station, but it sat there for around 30-40 mins before in the latest of a number of announcements they recommended that people leave the queue and head for other attractions.

If that was the case The Smiler would be have been closed for a few years now.

Just your usual, everyday ride unreliability then!

Can anyone remind me which seat is best (smoother/more comfortable) out of the inside and outside seats?

Going back tomorrow and would also be interested in the answer to this in the what seems unlikely event that the ride opens again..
Middle seats tend to be the smoothest. I'd say the outer right seat is smoother than the left. I enjoy the ride at the back more these days, you really feel yourself whip through the inversions and over the airtime. Front is better for hangtime as it sometimes feels like it takes ages to get over the inversions
Yes, the word "shame" indicates that! And it's down again today. Pity, this is my last day here this year.Did we miss the word "closed" there Mikw!

Spinball and Oblivion too as all 4 are are quite close to each other.Hopefully they get it open by the weekend otherwise Wicker man is in big bother
Towers will want to get it open by Friday (when Scarefest resumes), unless they are waiting for a part for it (in which case it would be out of their control).
Thanks. I can't see it opening today, but thank you anyway. I'm the queue for Rita at the moment in the rain. Extremely slow dispatches today, and Thirteen is closed too so Rita's fast track is affecting the main throughout tooYeah I feel sorry for you mate. Hopefully you'll have better luck next season.

My sister and her friends are going to Towers tomorrow. She wouldn't ride Smiler anyway but I've advised her to warn the rest of her group that it might still be closed.

I'll be gutted if this isn't open on Saturday. I hope Mixtape is sorted by then as well because it's a good ride as well imo!
