The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

Williams land came in with covid didn't it?
Never really stood a chance.
First new ride at the Towers I have walked out of the queue for on my first ride, because I figured the queue just wasn't worth it.
No regrets!

Never been on Gangsta Granny. Is it even worth bothering with, just to see what it's about?
I think any ride is worth it just to see what it's about. After all, if you've never tried something, how do you know if you'll like it or not?

The ride is fine for what it is, it wasn't an SW and was never meant to be a Rise Of The Resistance quality and to be honest, the cardboard cutouts and screens help the style of the ride. It's based on the book (not the BBC film) which is illustrated with cartoons and the ride just follows that style with cartoon animations and a few physical props and sets.

One thing I would warn you of, however, is that the throughput is rather low… so don’t necessarily be fooled if the queue looks very short. If the queue is spilling outside of the building, I’d guess you’ll be queueing for the best part of an hour.

The ride is alright (though nothing remarkable), the but the majority of the area is just cheap and garish.

I actually liked Cloud Cuckoo Land in it’s premier years when everything was there. But now it’s full of cheap vinyls, overlay and has no atmosphere or anything.

It feels remarkably cheap and just isn’t the same without twirling toadstool.

At least the areas music is good, though I still prefer CCLs soundtrack as it had that Lovely Alton Towers Charm that i think more recent additions to the park lack.

The ride is closed today and likely for the foreseeable.

Where did you hear that? I know the app says it's closed but I would've thought they'd put a message on the website or socials.

Why would you expect that? When do they ever do that?

I cant imagine right now they would want to draw attention to a ride that at its core is about stealing from The Queen and farting. Quietly keeping it closed is the best and most respectful option.

Yeah that's a good point actually.

Edit; app has been updated.

I mean I kind of get it, but at the same time, do we really have to be closing rides? I know they are both queen related, but, come on
It's been done as a mark of respect, and 100% justified.

Just the same as Legoland in Windsor is closed. Just like all sports have been cancelled today. Just like how most radio stations (certainly national BBC ones) are playing subdued music.

Towers have made the right call - if only to avoid all the Karens complaining it was open.

I don't know if it'll stay closed until the funeral or just this weekend. But I certainly get why it is closed today.
