See also Disney films vs those produced by Dreamworks etc. Just because the target audience is children doesn't mean there can't be a huge difference in quality.

Disney have their fair share of rubbish made for children rides too. Most of the truly good rides are made for family and have things that appeal to everyone. Things like Winnie the Pooh rides often feel very kiddie and lack the family appeal of some of the older classic disney attractions.
 
The fact is Alton Towers are having to make do with a meagre budget for this ride.

The money they've got to spend here is shocking.

Interesting to see that the Carousel has been fully removed in that video? If it was just being refurbished in the current location I doubt they would have cleared the area quite so well. Its already been announced as returning so I'd guess we can see abit of an area rearrange.
 
I suppose the carousel could go into the old Toadstool location to open up the main ‘street’ a bit more.

Which would make sense except that it's going to make it really obvious that half the street is completely abandoned, unless there are future plans for Nickelodeon and 4d

This ride seems to attract the atention of late teens and twentysomethings, dont really think it is for the pre teen market.
Complete misdirection of marketing by Merlin if you ask me.

Don’t confuse what “geeks” are responding to as the target market. There will be minimum chatter from the general audience until closer to opening so there is no point speculating on its marketing success until then.

I teach 9 year olds; Walliams is a major hit with most my class and has been for the past few years. They love him.

The target for this is your Key Stage 1 and 2 age group mainly; ages 6 to 11.

I'm 34 and even I'm excited for it. It's good to have a new UK dark ride and also to have a unique IP coming to a park. My lad will soon be 6 and I'm sure he'll love it more so though. That's probably where my excitement mainly comes from. Be good to take him to the part of the park where it's not a total ruin anymore.

I think Towers are slowly showing the signs of recovery. Wickerman was an excellent addition, the Dungeons not really my thing tbh but okay as a filler. And now DW world. Not going to complain with that and far better than most UK parks are doing. Paultons the only other who are doing well.

Im sure Chessington could do well if it actually had some investment!

Part of the queue is apparently indoors, so there could well be a small pre-show; I could see something like CATCF's working!
