He probably had to sign some sort of Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), but then, surely that would prevent him from saying anything about the project? Interesting.Interesting that he just mentions a ride and not an area.

I don't think it would be a full NDA. More a part in the contract that states what can be said. And everything else is not to be disclosed until Merlin releases the information to the public. He probably had to sign some sort of Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), but then, surely that would prevent him from saying anything about the project? He walked the line very well. Just peaking the interest of the public again.

Could the main attraction be an indoor coaster in the old WW building and not a dark ride?? Thing is though, every theme park ride is a roller coaster to the GP.a rollercoaster ??
It seems there will be one main attraction but also smaller attractions. This was a quote from the David Walliams press release:Interesting that he just mentions a ride and not an area.
The project, centring around the existing Cloud Cuckoo Land area of the Resort, is shrouded in secrecy. But the theme park has confirmed that its ‘Merlin Magic Making’ creative team has been working with Walliams and HarperCollins Children’s Books for the past two years to develop a ground-breaking, unique headline attraction as well as bringing a number of other attractions and characters to life across the theme park and within the Resort’s hotels.
Its the One Show though, not up to Theme Park Worldwide standards!a rollercoaster ??

I'm not overly sure how big of an indoor coaster the Wobble World building could accommodate, so my personal bet is still on a dark ride at present. But I'm open to surprises; parks have been able to fit substantial attractions in smaller spaces before!
On an interesting note, I believe that a coaster in this building would represent the first time that this area of the park has had a roller coaster since the Mini Apple closed in 1997!

I wouldn't count a coaster out; Alton Towers constructed Octonauts in about 2 months, so I don't find it unbelievable that they could put up a slightly larger coaster or a coaster of similar size during the closed season, especially considering groundwork on Octonauts only started in around December 2014/January 2015 and work has been going on inside the Wobble World building since August!A coaster might fit in the old Nickelodeon building or an expansion. But if this was a coaster we probably would have noticed a lot more construction by now?

Ride system? MaybeI think folk should temper their hopes to avoid disappointment.

Goodness, don't know if I'm the only one but I'm not sure having a new ride themed to prince andrew is the best idea to be honest.

I think people may be holding their expectations a little too high for this. Although I feel like the headline attraction will be done to a high standard, in a similar style to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The Ride (since David Walliams' illustrations are very similar). I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of Cloud Cuckoo Land remains the same, i.e. apart from the Wobble World Building, the areas facades will remain the same, the Frog Hopper and Driving School be repainted to fit in with the books and the carousel be re-located to Fountain Square. Personally I highly doubt they'll make use of the 4D Cinema, I think that'll remain closed.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Cloud Cuckoo Land keeps it's original name, as the press release says it 'will be centred around the existing Cloud Cuckoo Land area'.

Both the Road Dahl and David Walliams books use illustrations from Quentin Blake.
